Do You Love Thunderstorms?

Or precipitation in general?

I have a porch with covering, unlike most of my neighbors, so I have nature all to myself. There's nothing more lovely than a heavy rain, with some music in the background, and the sound, the sight - so relaxing.

Love thunderstorms and rainy days are good as long as they don't last multiple days.

Always loved the thunder and the rain.

Yes, the only thing which is cooler is a tornado. I'm a storm chaser, and I've seen 30 of them.

How close do you get to them? I'd be terrified of a random piece of debris would impale me ๐Ÿซฃ

reply

The closest I've ever gotten was about 300 yards, but we usually view them from several miles away.

Love thunder.

I love a heavy downpour too, unfortunately that's all we've had for months in Britain so my affection for the sound of rain is waning fast ๐ŸŒงโ˜”๏ธ

A few days ago, it rained off and on all day. Of course, I like harder rain opposed to light drizzles. I'm one of a couple on my street with a covered porch, so it's nice almost the entire neighborhood to myself to watch the rain, turn up the music.

I think I'd like rain every day - just as long as I'm not in it!

reply

That actually sounds lovely ๐Ÿ˜Š

It was. I've always loved nature, especially near the lakes, cabins, which I have not been to in years unfortunately. I'm always in a city, and would love to unwind, even for a week or so.

I was out and about yesterday as a big t-storm was kicking off. It's good that I didn't have far to drive because visibility was just about nil.

Another thunder lover. As a kid I use to count the time between lightning and thunder to see if it was coming close. It use to crack me up how scared the dogs got.

reply

My dog hated it, but REALLY hated fireworks and would run to the basement.

I like a good thunderstorm too. Just not real violent. A couple lighting strikes is OK but prefer when most of the lightning is just flashes in the clouds.
