Looking for laughs

Any comedies out now? Film or sitcoms. Comedy without some dark undercurrent. Like Seinfeld or What About Bob?

reply

Curb Your Enthusiasm

I remember you were binge-watching that one. I was a HUGE fan though season 8. Season 9, forward, not so much.

reply

I got up to halfway though S11 and I can’t get the last half at the moment ☹️

reply

I haven't seen that yet, thanks for reminding me of it.

reply

Since you like Seinfeld…..

reply

None of these meets your criteria, but the funniest shows I’ve seen in a while are Detroiters (2017) and I Think You Should Leave with Tim Robinson (2019) and the UK “game” show Taskmaster (2015). Frequent belly laughs.

Thanks, I hadn't heard of any of those. I'll check them out.

Can't think of films or sitcoms, but this is funny

Lol, thanks.

Trial and Error 2017-2018 John Lithgow
A spoof of crime documentaries about the arrest and trial of a beloved professor, who is accused of brutally murdering his wife, and the young Northeastern lawyer hired to defend him.

reply

Sounds fun!

reply

I loved it, but it does make fun of people from the US south. If I lived there, I'd probably be offended by the jokes.

Free on Amazon Prime

look for Community, if you don't find the series in Netflix (or whatever) you can find randomly full episodes here.

Unfortunately it seems that they delete the full episodes after some time.

reply

My son used to watch that. It looked cute, thanks!

reply

I recently tried and loved "I Think You Should Leave" on Netflix. Sketch comedy that, unlike most sketch comedies, has some hits mixed in. I laughed enough to watch both seasons.

Sprinkling of stars and SNL alum show up. Some flat and some shine.

reply

Run, don’t walk to check out Detroiters, if you yet haven’t.

reply

Why haven't I heard of these? Thanks for the suggestion!

reply

It's Always Sunny in Philadelphia
Curb Your Enthusiasm
Veep
Workaholics
The League
The Mick
Community
Arrested Development
Archer
South Park

reply

Arrested Development is the only one I've watched, and loved it. Thanks for the list.

reply

Yup NP. Veep stars Elaine from Seinfeld if that interest you.

reply

Yes, she's great. Thank you, and everyone, I've needed this! 😊

reply

It's always sunny in Philadelphia is pretty funny

reply

Thanks. Can't wait to have some laughs! : )
