Post the WORST Cover Song You've Ever Heard!

My immediate go-to choice. This horrorendous cover of "'Comfotably Numb" (by a band appropriately named "Hush", performing it for a Music Store's Breast Cancer benefit) from 12 years ago went viral, & became legendary for it's sheer awful-ness & musical ineptitude!!!😱 It spawned hundreds of internet memes, & simply putting "Worst Pink Floyd Cover" into any search engine will return thousands of results for it!

Slayer covering Steppenwolf's Born to be Wild. Just awful!

Yeeesh!! I normally like Slayer, but THIS....? Ugh!

reply

Slayer is one of favorite bands but this cover song really sucks!

Hilary Duff covering The Who. After listening to it, you're going to ask why, what and how.

WHAT in the holy fuck did I just listen to???????????

This has got to be one of the worst covers I ever heard. Complete destruction of the original! Totally butchered a classic. She couldn't even do the whistling.

I don't think it's that bad. Not really great, but not outright horrible either. But she does over-sing it a bit. Kind of like a cross between the worst vocal tendencies of Amy Lee & Jewel.

Everybody's Talkin' - Leonard Nimoy

I'll see your Nimoy and raise you a Shatner.

Stick around for (or at least skip ahead to) the end. You won't regret it.

reply

Yah, the Shatner stuff is much better known. But I think Nimoy is absolutely sincere, whereas Shatner may know he is being a bit of a parody (or maybe he doesn't, I don't really know for sure).

reply

I'm not a fan of this cover of that song either

Yikes! That actually makes the one I posted sound A LOT better now!!

After 2 minutes of trance beat & interpolation of the opening lines over & over I couldn't take anymore!!😱

reply

Yes it certainly is an assault on the ears all right!

Just about anyone who’s tried to screech out The Star-Spangled Banner, which is an unmelodious and unsinkable sing. Easily the best rendition: Jimi Hendrix at the Monterey Pop Festival.

???
You mean Woodstock.

Its not that bad, just requires a 1.5 octave range - I hear nobodies bang it out marvelously all the time. Celebrities, not so much.
