An interesting post. I never heard of her, and I love 70s music. Looking her up. she "found greater success in Europe and Australia than in her homeland, reaching No. 1 in the UK, other European countries and Australia with her singles "Can the Can" (1973) and "Devil Gate Drive" (1974). The "Can the Can" single "made Quatro the first female bass guitar player to become a major rock star and therefore broke a barrier to women's participation in rock music."

Suzi Quatro is awesome 🤘🎸

Yep, she's great. I think she was mainly known in the USA for an appearance in Happy Days - which always seemed odd to me.

No 70s thread would be complete without KC & The Sunshine Band.

That's odd. I think I remember the song but have no idea who they are.

reply

I can remember how famous this song was at the time. I liked it but it was every-bloody-where.

On the nose, 1970; Santana's #1 hit! https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=axbtig7w7a8

Wow. Fantastic.

I've been to Tanglewood several times, but not this early on (I would have been 11 years old)

On their Abraxas album, my favorite. Santana was probably the most sensual band of that decade, imo.
