Have you ever argued about Star Wars?

I have not. While I think Star Wars is cool I'm not that passionate about the lore or whatever.

reply

When it was announced in 1983 I did argue about it, at the time I was quite young to talk about politics but I felt quite passionate about the Star Wars program!

reply

I see the Empire as the good guys but other than that I only like the original trilogy so I'm limited in terms of how much I can really argue.

reply

No, I haven't. Its one of those things I saw a lifetime ago and thought was, at best, mildly amusing. And then I saw it again a few years ago, it had a new name : Guardians of the Galaxy. Again, the schmaltzy cutesy space opera thingamabob movie.

I've never understood its appeal, longevity. But then I'm not a Marvel, DC, Lucas or whathaveyou type guy. I think its all treacle.

So the only argument I would have is if someone expected me to take any of it seriously as anything more than a seat-filler for the movie studios.

reply

Hahaha absolutely. I used to really enjoy talking and debating about Star Wars, but after the awful sequels it kind of killed it for me and I just don't care anymore. Additionally, people seem to be so easily offended nowadays with just a difference of an opinion, they respond with insults rather than actually try to have a conversation, especially with Star Wars! I mean that's always been there on the net, but it just seems more widespread and easier to get to that point - or maybe that's just my age talking!

reply

No, I am a grown adult, too mature to argue over a silly kids movie

reply

Probably not.

I'm not above arguing online or in person and I love Sci Fi flicks but I was never much for Star Wars.

So meh.
