What's your LEAST favorite genre of tv shows

Like what types of shows do you hate or just don't care for. For me its...

1. Reality Shows. I've only watched 2 reality shows in my entire lifetime. Survivor & The Amazing Race. And that was almost 2 decades ago. I've never seen a single episode of the Karadashians, Real Housewives, Jersey Shore or whatever else people go crazy for.

2. Medical Dramas. With the exception of Scrubs & House MD, I really don't care for them. Take away the sick patients & most of them honest feel like soap operas. With their relationship dramas & love triangles.

3. Court Room Shows. With the exception of Boston Legal & Better Call Saul, I really don't like Court room shows. Most of them feel very samey.

4. Cop Shows. I don't hate 'em, I just got burnt out on 'em. Used to watch A LOT of them in the early to late 2000s. Then the 2010s came along & I felt like I've seen 'em all. They were mostly the same. Predictable & repetitive.

Half hour sitcoms with laugh tracks

SO...ALL THE CLASSIC SITCOMS?

reply

Oh God, they make me cringe so hard. I grew up with the likes of Friends & Frasier but since the past decade, I discovered shows like 30 Rock, Community, Brooklyn 99 & It's always sunny in Philadelphia

And now I genuinely can't stand that annoying laughter. Big Bang Theory over did it the most in my opinion. Especially in the later seasons

YOUR LIST IS MY LIST...

1. REALITY SHOWS...ALL GARBAGE.

2. MEDICAL DRAMAS...AFTER ER I TUNED OUT,FOREVER.

3. COURT ROOM SHOWS...SOOOO BORING.

4. COP SHOWS...AFTER NYPD BLUE I WAS DONE.

I was obsessed with the likes of the CSI shows, Bones, Castle & NCIS but now, I genuinely don't think I can even get through a single episode of them

reply

I WATCHED CASTLE FOR A FEW SEASONS OUT OF PURE LOVE FOR FILLION.

reply

Same. Been a fan since Firefly. The first few seasons were honestly pretty solid stuff but like most shows, it got worse the longer it was on.

reply

Reality tv shows are the worst form of "entertainment". Absolutely asinine. It boggles my mind at how popular it is, I wonder if there's a correlation between enjoying these shows and having a low IQ.

reply

Some shows feel so dumb that I honestly think that they actually make you dumb for watching them

Everything I know about Reality shows, I learned from The Soup with Joel McHale. He'd make fun of them. And let me tell ya, they're some of the most garbage, dumbest things to ever exist

Like wow. So Mind dumbing

Reality TV
Sitcoms
Soap Operas

reply

I think I've seen One soap opera. Only because I was raised by mostly women & they were obsessed with Soap Operas. I barely even remember any details about it but I think it was called Sunset Bar or Beach or something like that

reply

Late night TV

I loved Carson, Letterman, Leno et al

Now it is all woke crap

reply

Never watched a single late night show episode. I've seen a few clips on YouTube. They're some of the most awkward, cringe & uncomfortable things that I've watched in my lifetime

I don't think I can get through an entire episode of any of them. Especially Fallon. His fake laughter alone is the absolute worst.

reply

With a few exceptions, I don't care for any TV show with continuing story lines. I like to be able to miss an episode and not feel confused.

Exceptions - Dexter, GOT, Breaking Bad, 24.

reply

I don't mind most shows that continue storylines throughout seasons. I just hate ones that drag a single mystery for multiple seasons. Stringing along the audience & not answering any questions or solving anything. Just piling up more mysteries.

I hate that genre of mystery shows with a burning passion. That's one of the main reasons I didn't even bother with Manifest. It just looked like one that those shows.
