Cher's video for 'Turn Back Time' video has aged terribly

I'm used to things that used to be 'offensive' being tame in comparison to the stuff we see today (WAP comes to mind.)

But Cher's costume is really distasteful, and NOT sexy at all.

Ever since J-Lo made the latina booty hot and sexy in a mainstream way, if you ain't got junk in the trunk, you don't show that off. And Cher has the ass of a greyhound.

She even uses her ass to assault a guitarist (2:45).

The video is trash. We got sailors on a ship and stadium cheering sound effects added.

As for the video, I never got the impression it was meant to be sexy. More shocking. And for the late 80s it achieved its goal perfectly. Personally though I was never a fan of the song, it’s far from Cher’s best.

Still, I can see Elijah having an internal “jeez Mom would it kill you to put on a pair of pants” moment. Normal parental embarrassment x 100.

Wha? It's one of the best music videos ever! It's crazy sexy. She ushered in the shaved look. If it wasn't for Cher, their would be no Madonna, let alone Jlo.

I don't necessarily agree with you but that made me laugh.

The thing that jumps out at me about that video isn't her outfit or body, it's that the 1980s big hairdo looks bizarre by today's standards.

Never liked Cher's music but I admit to getting a boner when I first saw that video. It is a strange costume. It is simultaneously sexy and awkward. A combination of hits and misses. I love the V bikini and am a slave to a glimpse of nylon leg. Yet somehow I felt like Cher was desexualizing the getup. I didn't think she was being trashy and I loved that she did it. But it somehow didn't explode as big as the amount of evident gunpowder would merit.

She is a great performer and I like her acting.
