Michael Bay directed the first Got Milk? ad

From 1993. This played all the time. Many more followed, and Bay went on to bigger things, then bigger things, then bigger things that transformed into other bigger things...and then he kept doing that.

I remember this ad. It disgusted me. Never would I drink milk with a PB sandwich.

reply

I don't find that particularly weird. The guy in this ad looks like James Gunn, but it's not, I checked.

reply

I didn't care for that commercial. I found it really hard to believe that someone would Matrix-fight their way through a den of ninjas to blow up the Kremlin, and then just stand there as flaming body parts and debris from the building are raining down all around while he is calmly drinking a carton of milk. Lazy writing!

He did manage to shoehorn in his trademark 'fluttering stars and stripes flag' though.

reply

He’s an American hero!

reply

When we watch Micheal Bay films, we take bets as to how long it’ll be before his flag motif appears.

reply

Yes
The flag and then shit blowing up...credits.

I think so was this Levis meets the Partridge Family commercial from the late 90s

Any specifics that we could verify with? I totally agree that it looks like his style.

reply

Expected more explosions!

reply

But his quick whip pan low angle style is readily apparent.

reply

lol.. same

I always liked that one but I think my favorite Got Milk ad is the one where a corrupt business man gleefully fires someone over a cell Phone, gets hit by a car, then thinks he is in heaven. Only to eat a cookie, go to a fridge full of empty milk cartons, and thus realize he is in Hell.

reply

That's the one I remember the most, or I do now that you jogged it out of the deep recesses.

reply

Is that a question

reply

No

reply

I have milk
