Brush and floss often, kids.

Drove my brother back from the dentist today. He had one dead tooth and two molars removed, and he's going back for more in a couple weeks. He showed me the ones that were extracted, and I've honestly seen better teeth on mummies.

He's still in his 20s and will be short at least six teeth by the end of the month. People, please practice good oral hygiene!

Proper advice Fred...scary example but fine advice!

Brush twice, floss and mouthwash at least once a day...Bit of work but the alternative is pretty terrible:/

reply

This seems to be lost on some, but good for you for practicing it, Shogun!

reply

Indeed. No one likes a gummy mummy.

reply

Yet just about everyone enjoys a popcorn classic!

reply

How about a yummy gummy?

I knew a guy like that a few years back in the workplace. He was in his 40s, had a reputation for having terribly ugly teeth, bad oral hygiene with horrendous bad breath. He also tried to peddle the lie that he was too high quality to buy anything from a dollar store while simultaneously falling prey to the 'payday loan' scam that gave those companies electronic access to his bank account. The absolute irony is that he was in a position of authority, a supposed 'supervisor', when he was really just a lackey to the then powers that were.

Awesome testimony. May your future days include a pilgrimage to the Victorville Film Archives. Awesome stuff awaits!

Thanks for the interesting link! I had a buddy years ago who hailed from that town and constantly talked about it.

If you don't like the taste of toothpaste, I don't, try putting a little baking soda on your brush. Extra white teeth๐Ÿ˜

You don't have to tell us brits we have the best teeth ๐Ÿ˜

is he homeless??

reply

Not yet, but a pattern of poor life choices is going to get him there.

One thing they really need to teach is how to brush the very back molars. I mean, I brushed my teeth on a regular basis, but for some reason, for years nobody taught me to brush my gums (until I was in my 20s, which is embarrassing), and nobody taught me how to reach my back molars with the toothbrush until 12 years ago, so I've had issues back there, mostly with the upper back ones. In fact, I have a crown on my right back molar, and my far left back one had to be removed, and we didn't have the money for an implant before the damned lockdowns came in, so I have a gap back there. I'll eventually get an implant, but it'll be some time before I have the money, and it's safe enough to have the dental surgeon work on me.

It embarrassing how little people teach kids about brushing. They say brush hard, but not too hard. Brush in circles, but in a specific way. I've brushed twice every day for as long as I can remember, and the last time I went to the dentist, she informed me that I had 3 teeth in the back with gum recession. I did what I've always been told to do. How can I have gum recession?

reply

" Brush in circles,"

never heard that, I thought it was up and down!

reply

When the dentist told me that my gums werre receding, she said not to worry and just continue to brush my teeth in a circular motion but don't do it too hard. I used to do up and down too.

This is the problem in talking about. They tell us conflicting things.

I take care of my pearly yellows.
