Question to older people, how did you survive alcohol prohibition 1919-1931?
Was it hard when they removed your right to drink?

shareYou are not trying to expose the geriatrics on this site are you?
shareListen here Sonny! Back then we just made our booze anyway see! It didn't make no difference to what they tried to enforce on us! It was our right so we did it, simple as that see?!
We made so much moolah from the sales of our moonshine! We didn't care none.
1931 WAS 89 YEARS AGO...ANYONE STILL ALIVE WOULD HAVE TO HAVE BEEN A BABY DURING PROHIBITION AND HOLLOW BONE OLD NOW...WEIRD QUESTION.
sharefolks were allowed to brew their own beer, i believe. or at any rate, did. usually in the cellar.
that's what i heard from my family.
That's history. I'm more focused on cannabis Prohibition. Over half the States have either medical or recreational, 68% of Americans support Federal Legalization and our neighbors to the north have completely legalized it already. Why is our Government so inept?
shareEven when it's legalized, it's still illegal.
In Las Vegas, you can only legally smoke in a private residence. If you're caught smoking on the street or even on a hotel balcony, they can give you a ticket - $700 fine.
By comparison, in NY where it's illegal-but-decriminalized (meaning, still illegal but very low penalties), if you're caught smoking it's a $50 fine.
It's a totally schizo policy.
I agree there's a lot of work to be done, but with legalization, we can have dispensaries, home growing and carry up to an oz without a fine. In my State, smoking in public is a $100 fine, similar to drinking in public. I'm fine with these rules to be honest. It better than being arrested or worrying about my door being kicked in for growing.
sharei doubt there is anyone here who is that old.
