Looking for a good light hearted British Comedy series, any suggestions?

I have watched many American comedy series and now I am in mood to watch British comedy for a change. I liked watching IT Crowd and Doc Martin (loved it).

Faulty Towers was also alright but it's bit too old for my liking.

What I absolutely DO NOT enjoy is slapstic comedy.
Believe it or not I do not like to watch Mr. Bean.

I watched first 10 mins of The Office (UK) and didn't feel it was for me. I could be wrong. But I would like to hear your suggestions.

Fawlty Towers is way before my time, but its humour is timeless! Older British sitcoms are actually the best.

Since you're looking for more recent shows, I'm gonna go with Absolutely Fabulous, but only the 90s episodes. And if you dare, watch Bottom. If that's too much, then maybe go with Men Behaving Badly. The Royle family could also be entertaining at times.

Father Ted and The Vicar of Dibley are shows that started out okay, but I think I quit both after season 2.

I can't think of any more recent shows, I only watched sketch shows after that.

Men Behaving Badly sound more appealing since I just finished watching Doc Martin. Same lead actor.

Yep, Fawlty Towers is some of the most brilliant comedy I've ever seen. I grew up on British sitcoms, they are awesome.

I was going to suggest Ab Fab too.

Spaced (1999). Simon Pegg has stated in interviews that everything he’s written since has roots in this TV show.
