Have you noticed urban/hip hop culture has overtaken white suburbia?

Like almost every middle class white kid under 25 and plenty 25+ now use an entire vocabulary of slang borrowed from/born of hip hop and speaks in ways that are unmistakably African American in nature. These are privileged kids living in $500k houses who talk like they grew up in the hood.

Most of the popular music is hip hop or hip hop influenced, even the bubble gum pop is now very hip hoppy and a lot of it just straight up rap.

Now let me say I love rap/hip hop, I grew up during the golden age and during which some of the best hip hop was released peaking in the mid 90s with Nas and Jay-Z’s debut albums. Most of the stuff coming out today being billed as rap is straight trash, the genre has been overrun with mumble rappers and emo/trap, auto tune synth infused garbage. There are a select few who are still staying true to the form.

Anyway, had to clear that up before I got hit w the race card. But yeah, people are without question getting dumber by the day and pop culture is shit.

All I can say is the English language is devolving or evolving into non-speak. Maybe heading into ebonics territory.

It is just another sign of the trouble that Western Civilisation is in when young white people look to Black gangster culture for their role model. It's humiliatingly pathetic.

It is another consequence of multi-culturalism of course and the way white culture has retreated under the attacks that have been made on it.

Another consequence of multiculturalism is the blues, jazz, even rock and roll.

Execs in part dictate the art and is consumed by the masses. I wouldn't even say white suburbia. I'd say It's just overtaken period. As you said few stay true to form but the way things are, people listen to what's popular and as we know things that are popular are not always good.
