Does Anyone Have The Flu?

Does anyone have the flu? If so, how are you doing? I'm on Day 4. And just like the last time I got the flu, it was immediately after going grocery shopping (I had no choice)... I took precautions, wore gloves, etc., but I'm sick as hell (body aches, weak, chills, and lately coughing - hoping its the Lysol I sprayed earlier)

reply

Hope you feel better soon.

reply

Thanks, Allaby.

You couldn’t have caught it at the store and then been showing symptoms if it was immediately afterwards. You must have caught it sometime previously to account for the usual 1 to 2 week incubation period that those kinds of illnesses have

The last time I got a flu it came the following day after going to the same supermarket, and I didn't come in contact with anyone. I live alone.

reply

Not yet. Get well Bill.

reply

Thanks. Stay well, hownos

I'm fine but I wish you well
You picked a hell of a week to get sick Amigo!

Check in with us regularly, you are a cool guy

reply

Thank you, I appreciate that, especially the compliment :)

You are never a bore, I thank you for that
The compliment and many more are well deserved
Rest up and get better pal, being sick is lousy

A couple of hours ago, I started coughing and getting chills. No fever so far, so stay tuned!

I had it about 6 weeks ago. It sucked. At first I thought I'd gotten it a day or two after going to a downtown grocery store, because I came down with symptoms a day or two afterwards (cause -- > effect, so I thought), but in reality I probably got it earlier and from someone who showed no symptoms. I was careful but, 🤷‍♀️

Days 1-14 sucked. Days 1-3 were the worst. Do you have shortness of breath? I did, still do to a degree, thought I had walking pneumonia but have gotten better. Hope you do, too.

reply

"Walking pneumonia". Wow, haven't encountered that expression in quite awhile. I was diagnosed with it once, long ago.

Respiratory ailments seem to run in my family. My maternal grandmother died from pneumonia. My mother struggled with chronic bronchitis during her final years. My closest brother died of complications with diabetes/flu/pneumonia at the age of 39 on his only child's 6th birthday. The implications of what's presently going on certainly isn't lost on me.

You had walking pneumonia? A childhood friend had it once. She's the only person I've ever known who had it.

Please take all precautions and stay safe, Db.

I did have trouble when I went to bed. I thought "Is it anxiety" or is it because I'm laying down? I got scared, got up and walked around, and went to sleep eventually. I'm always freezing in the morning (and sniffly) because I keep my heat at 55 F, and in my room, I close off all the vents, so its much colder. I'll know within a few hours if things are better or worse.

reply

I'm so sorry to hear you got sick...
You live alone, right? Do you have anyone close by to check up with you?
How are you doing now?

reply

How are you doing now? If it was only anxiety, you'll know by now. It's after exerting yourself at all.

Had a cold last week, I thought it was Corona as soon as I started feeling shitty. Felt fine by Thursday though.

reply

That's good to hear!
