Why are Americans so fat?

Will obesity ever go down? What about when we get universal health care? I don't think so. Americans already consume more health care than any other country and it only makes things worse. Public health care will be just like public education where the tests constantly have to be revised to cover up falling test scores. Maybe scientists will even change the BMI scale to something they can manipulate, like the CPI for inflation. Our dollars will all have at least 10 zeros and people will be as round as planets, but scientists will keep insisting that we're moving along at a managable place and making steady progress, and we'd be doing better if budget funding wasn't so low. Those darn fiscal conservatives hate science! Oh, but kids in college will major in fat acceptance, and we'll have fat runway models and fat body builders and if you notice it didn't used to be that way, that's criminal fat shaming hate speech.

I think we're fat because the government tells us to eat the food pyramid, and if the environmentalists have their way, it will be illegal not to eat a feedlot style diet of inudstrial substitutes. You will be socially ostracized like homeschoolers and anti-vaxxers.

This is the kind of stuff I think about everytime a liberal acts like things were going great until Trump came along. They weren't. You were just too busy feeding at the trough to see the people you were stepping on, fatty.

Firstly, I don't see that many obese people and I've been all over the country.

But, I do see them typically in rural areas. You will not find that many fat people in cities.

That's because American life is very boring and high stress. People must work all the time and then they get home late with only a few hours of personal time. So, for an adult, there's nothing to do but watch TV and eat.

Eating is the only pleasure in the lives of some people. It's what they plan on when getting home, it's what they look forward to, and it feels good.

Years ago, I was working a very high stress job and got fat from pleasure eating. I have always been a fitness person and this really surprised me. I then got back on track and now hit the gym daily, don't eat for pleasure, and I'm in good shape.

However, I still have high stress jobs. So, my evening is going to the gym for at least an hour or more, which means I have almost no personal time at all. I don't get to watch much TV and it can be annoying to a loved one if I'm in the gym.

There just is no time for anything in the US due to the heavy focus on work and how expensive it is to live a basic lifestyle

One thing I wonder when I ponder over-weight people is how they don't realize what a drag on their performance it is. Don't fat people get they are having to work a lot harder to move their girth around? I would think it would be annoying as well as embarrassing and unattractive.

I've never been to the USA, but my boyfriend goes there on tour at least twice a year. He says the portions are GARGANTUAN.
