Frasier, Cheaters, or Dateline?

Which would you watch?

I chose Cheaters but got a home shopping channel. I don't think I would have watched much of it but I guess I would have done a sort of rubber necking, slow, drive by.

I then tried Frasier, but I'm bored with it. They're kind of all the same. The plots and the guest stars change but you can depend on a very limited fixed menu of rotating schticks from the characters. That said, it has its moments for me and I used to love it.

Then I ended up at Dateline. I'd never seen that show. Kinda cheesy. Ya think? The white haired reporter is so exaggerated in his sarcasm. He may as well be winking at the camera.

I'm Keith Morrison and coming up on Dateline, did he light her fire? Or did their love become a funeral pyre?

reply

hahaha!

reply

I posted hahaha! twice by accident and so I deleted the 2nd one and now I have a visibly deleted post. That's dumb.

reply

It happens, I delete shit all the time. If you acknowledge it, then it is not so bad. You can also edit posts.

reply

haha. I thought it would just disappear. Actually, didn't they used to do the same thing at IMDB? If I'd edited it I could have said: Whoops, ignore this: hahaha! I only meant to say it once.

reply

On this site your name stays attached to any and all posts you make unless you delete your account in which case any undeleted posts will stay up minus your name, but don't worry! We all make mistakes. My best advice is to just move on. One advantage this site has is that it won't tell people if you edit a post, so if you catch a mistake within a few seconds you can immediately edit it and act like it didn't happen. But it is always better to acknowledge stuff and say something like:

EDIT: blah blah blah example

people are more or less forgiving.

Cool, thanks.

To "Dateline" correspondent Keith Morrison, Matthew Perry is more than a friend โ€” he's his stepson! That's right: Morrison, whose deep voice permeates "Dateline," has been married to Perry's mom, Suzanne, since 1981. ... "I did think he'd be famous," Morrison admitted when asked by Andy Cohen.Sep 19, 2017

what a world.

reply

Since 1981.

reply

I'm not quite sure what you mean, but Matthew Perry's real-life father is John Bennett Perry.

reply

I said step father๐Ÿ‘

reply

you weren't kidding about that. Small world, huh?

reply

Oops. Sorry - lost in translation at this late hour, DF!

reply

Frasier. I've never watched the other two shows.

reply

the surprising thing about frasier,

frasier's dad is the gay one, and frasier is not. (irl, imean)

or that little brother was head over heels with anything in a skirt.

reply

Niles was? On the show or irl? Niles is like the pervy, annoying friend who just takes it too far. Daphne is annoying in a different way but she has a hot body. She looks scrawny in clothes I guess they dressed her kinda baggy but once she danced on a table in Niles creepy fantasy in a 60's outfit and it all made sense.

reply

Daphne's mom is funny. So is Bebe the agent and her assistant who became an agent.

reply

IMO Frasier is the best sitcom ever. I have all eleven seasons on DVD and watch them in the order they were made.

I really disagree with you when you say "Daphne's mom is funny."

She is annoying, loud mouthed, rude and overbearing. But funny she is not.

reply

niles and dad are (irl) gay.

reply

The dad passed away this year.

reply

ok, he's not gay anymore.

never gave the vibe, is the thing. very working class ny joe.

reply

That was acting. He was British.

reply

he played that basic character in the movies too. i'm thinking it wasn't all acting, that was his basic personality, minus the accent. but yeah, he put on the ny thing

here he is in an interview :

reply

Sounds about right. He was on Burn Notice doing pretty much the same thing.

reply

He sounds American. Maybe he came here as a kid.

reply

He also sometimes pretended to be another actor name Len Cariou.

reply

He had an alter ego?

What an interesting collection of divergent shows. Frasier. Cheaters was hilarious at first, then it just began to seem sad.
And Dateline is extremely cheesy and snarky.

๐Ÿ˜Ž

reply

Yeah. I had never seen Dateline so I just found that out, lol.
I only saw Cheaters a few times and it seemed fake.
I always liked Frasier but Iโ€™ve seen them all. Wonder if theyโ€™ll do a reboot.

reply

Probably not, especially since John Mahoney died on Feb 4.

๐Ÿ˜

reply

Last I heard KG was saying he wanted to and Martyโ€™s death would be a big part of it. He was waiting for a writer to come up with a great reason to revive it.

reply

That would be cool. We shall see.

I love the Frasier series. It's the last thing I watch at night to lift my spirits. Lots of fun. I'm on season eight.
