How you know a movie is going to suck just by the commercials for it

For me it's the 30 second commercial with one word bites from reviews that suck and they take one world that is positive from a negative review.

Jeffrey Lyons calls it "captivating"..when the real review says "The special effects are captivating but not enough to save the plot of this failing effort."

If they use obscure publications or bloggers for quotes then that is a big red flag more so than the quote itself.

In this day and age it's easy enough to look at metacritic, imdb, rotten tomatoes for reviews... so you no longer really need to decipher the trailer... but if you can't tell what the story is about, or if it's a comedy and the one big gag is not funny, then those are also good indications that the film might be bad.

Yup
And i think thats a big way that Hollywood screws itself
You almost need to look at the 'net for a bit more info on a film and wind up getting something big spoiled
I like to not no too much going in...they have made it that i have to know too much to bother
But then i see a lot of them at some point anyway...i guess im the fool:/

Very easy, when they say "based on..."and then i see the trailer and it's a lie.Bastards
