Classic movies barely ever have any activity now, so I propose this feature.

The same way 'Trending' and 'In Theatres' are set up, lets have a 'Classic Movie Spotlight' (or whatever you like to call it) where every day a dozen or so classics are chosen randomly generated to increase activity. Some rules to qualify I suggest would be that it must have atleast a 7.5 rating on IMDB and/or must have won 1 or more Academy Awards.

Opinions?

¯\_(ツ)_/¯

He probably meant a feature to where random movies would pop up, similar to the "in theaters" and would not be dictated solely on people commenting on them.

Then again, it probably would not be a good idea because many people would not necessarily comment on them. Everyone has different tastes in movies. Unless it was a movie I actually wanted to watch, I probably would not comment on it neither.

I agree. I'd like to see a "see more" link next to the Trending section so you can check out the posts that have been made the last couple of weeks. I hate to compare, but TMDB does show older discussions.

I definitely think there should be an option to see more on Trending.

Having a random selection of movies on another bar-thing could also be interesting.

I post as much as I can on the older films. In particular foreign ones. I've noticed a lack of posts too unless it's something like Psycho or Citizen Kane. I kind of hope when it shows up on "trending" someone might look at the cover and feel inclined to click it and check the movie out for themselves.

I think if you persistently post about classic film you can have a profound effect on those boards. A lot of people see the site, get excited because it looks like imdb... then quickly become discouraged because the traffic is so low. However, if even a few people kept posting regularly, it would attract those hardcore film lovers looking for those discussions.

I think a classic movie spotlight would be nice... but it will take at least ten people posting daily on classics to really change anything.
