Why do some people refuse to believe in climate change? What's the point?

I find this one to be the stupidest position to take, even stupider than being an anti-vaxxer(which is stupid enough already lol). I mean, what's the point? Why deny reality?

reply

It's because I haven't been brainwashed by the Watermelons.

reply

Another climate cult post, "how dare you?"

reply

The evidence is clear, it's happening all around us, but the real bad stuff is still 50+ years away. So it's easy to dismiss it as a deal with it then problem *edit or a deal with it never problem bc we'll all be dead in 100 yrs. Also ppl don't want to bring on the transition to renewables by say having to pay more for gas prices dt a tax. I'm with you tho. Look at the ice sheets falling into the ocean at the polls dumping so much water, rising sea levels, compounding the problem. it's horrifying and we feel powerless as individuals to mitigate it.

reply

Ironically, no one can explain why the Earth started warming by itself 25,000 years ago.

The only good news is that someday millions of years from now the Earth will descend into another ice age. People will be complaining that its too cold and that the sea levels are dropping.

reply

Are you confident we'll be on earth in a million years? I'm not so sure. If we last that long as a species we'll likely be somewhere else.

reply

More than likely we wont. I imagine we will destroy ourselves or the Earth in the next 100 years.

reply

Nothing really that complicated about the denials.

Those in the fossil fuel industry who have benefitted financially throughout the decades have to continue denying it because if they acknowledge it as true, it would basically be an admission that they've been lying about it the entire time.

And those who have been denying it as being true for other reasons (political, etc) have to continue denying it because if they acknowledge it as true, it would basically be an admission that they'd been fooled about it the entire time.

reply

Ignorance encouraged by arrogance.

reply

Perhaps it's because some of us have lived long enough to hear decades of gloom and doom about the environment only to see that the predictions and reasonings are faulty I'd not completely hysterical. It's observation that even our best predictions and practices are flawed, biased, and narrow minded.
In my lifetime, the seas were supposed to be empty by now, the ozone was supposed to be completely decimated, the silverback gorilla was supposed to be extinct, there was supposed to be mass starvation across the world, the polar bears were supposed to be extinct, the ice caps were supposed to be gone, winter would no longer exist, the oceans would consume all costal areas, LA residents would need facemasks just to walk around, and Boston would be consumed by acid rain, and cancer would destroy everything.

People think we know so much more now than we did before. In reality, we have better measurements but the same flawed reasoning we always had.

Biggest lie from environmentalists: government agreements would end global warming. That's a joke in itself.

"decades of gloom and doom about the environment only to see that the predictions and reasonings are faulty "

Care to name one?

reply

Try rereading my post and use a little brainpower and look it up.

I swear people are too stupid to realize that people actually addressed issues before 2000.

reply

l didn't think you were serious about those since they are claims that were never credibly made.

"the seas were supposed to be empty by now,"

Who ever claimed that? I call BS

"IN MY LIFETIME* the ozone was supposed to be completely decimated,"

We actually did something about that by banning most use of CFCs which has stabilized the ozone hole. It still exists but it is not growing anymore.

"the silverback gorilla was supposed to be extinct,"

There are only about 1,000 left in the wild. Some conservation efforts have stabilized some populations. *We should check back in when you are dead.

"there was supposed to be mass starvation across the world"
Well, there is mass starvation in many places.

"the polar bears were supposed to be extinct, the ice caps were supposed to be gone"
Pretty much still on the way. *

"winter would no longer exist, the oceans would consume all costal areas,"
I don't think anyone projected that to be in your lifetime. But we are on the way*

"LA residents would need facemasks just to walk around,"

Where were you in 2020-21?

"and Boston would be consumed by acid rain,"

What?

"and cancer would destroy everything."

LOL, calm down.

reply

It's funny to hear the same doom and gloom messages being perpetuated by another generation. It's on par with the NWO preppers.

Fool me hundreds if not thousands of times, shame on... cultish groupthink?

True, but they have found other ways to still convince the masses with “Geoengineering Climate Change” using several different tactics and methods to affect it.

There are plenty of articles and sources about it; I recommend a documentary that is 1hr-14min called “UNconventional Grey”…it is on rumble and bitchute.

reply

Don't forget that aids was going to devestage the hetrosexual community too. BUt good list.

I'm old enough to remember the Ice Age panic mongering of hte late 70s. Just barely.

reply

Preservation of self comfort level.

reply

This.

No one is going to give up their phones or air conditioning or heat.

No one is going to give up going on vacation.

No one is going to give up their 3 cars.

reply

All those globalists and elites pushing the climate agenda should be the ones to give up everything and live in the wild so they can set an example for their cult followers.

reply

These globalists also just flew their private planes to Dubai to talk about climate change. Elites will never give anything up. They will just make new laws that affect regular citizens.

reply

They are lying hypocrites and their followers are too brainwashed to see it.

reply

Apparently that climate conference in Dubai, which has been going on for years (idk if it's been in Dubai every time or other places), isn't as climate friendly as it appears. There's speculation that Biden didn't show up this year for that reason.

reply

Its a good thing Joe didn't show up because that pretty much solves climate change. I am going to go back to throwing my trash in the street now.

reply

I know it's sarcasm but, side note, it baffles & frustrates me that people still do throw their trash in the streets. That goes for cigarette butts, pre-roll containers, vape cartridges, styrofoam cups, MacDonald's containers, plastic bags of dog shit. I'll never understand it.

reply

Smokers are the worst offenders. There was a crew working in my street a few days ago and of course when I went to get the mail there was cigarette butts everywhere.
