Some say the true number of deaths is much higher because, unlike many states, New York does not count the deaths of former nursing home residents who are transferred to hospitals and die there as nursing home deaths.

The previous poster is correct. Cuomo was following federal guidelines and I literally went to both CDC and NYS government websites to read about their nursing home policies after hearing Cuomo discuss it. The NYS website literally copy-pasted their guidelines directly from the fed site. Same exact language.
Trump targeted Cuomo because he was jealous of his popularity from his daily updates.
Furthermore, epidemics and pandemics are national security therefore Trump's responsibility. Trump failed to warn the governors and public in January which allowed literally millions of travelers to land in the NY region spreading the virus which eventually killed scores of people throughout the region.
It's a hoax. It'll magically disappear in April.
