Weren't the Indians also American? I always check a movie's runtime before watching in theaters... anything over 150 minutes I wait to watch at home. The writing wasn't as solid though. lol Yeah I see it... CGI Jack Nicholson coming up! I think a lot of people give props to this movie for being groundbreaking in the slasher genre... did things that had not been done in that very new genre up to then in cinema history. Haven't watched it and I'm not going to watch it in theaters because of such a long running time. Should have been an Apple TV mini series and made 4 hours / 4 episodes. So far Universal has invested without taking into account any marketing... over 430 million between a license to produce a trilogy (rights) and the production budget of this installment. Having grossed 90 million worldwide is not what I would qualify as a financial success. I doubt they are happy and were expecting similar performance to their Halloween movies. Remember Universal does not keep the entire 90 million either... they split it with the movie theaters and they get a smaller cut each passing week... also smaller cuts from many international markets... so far they have recovered somewhere in the 50 million range. I think it's not even the straight up rights... WB retains the overall rights... Universal bought rights but only like a license to produce an Exorcist trilogy. But I believe WB has the franchise rights to keep producing more content from this IP. I think that was the original release intention for The Irishman, COVID wasn't an issue. Oh okay. Yeah I doubt they will do that since it will require to reshoot most of the film... also I doubt Disney has any issues with what she is going around saying... talk about shooting yourself in the foot. Maybe your suggestion comes from a very nice place in your heart as a fan, but I would say it's better to just let it go. Just watch the first 3 movies and ignore those DHINO entries. As of 2023 those deepfake/deaging/CG-whatever things still don't look 100% convincing (I can't believe people praising the deaged Harrison Ford sequence in the most recent Indiana Jones film). Bruce is gone, his acting choices/charm/voice are not there anymore, anything else would be an impression/parody of him. Let it go. =( I am unaware of this news. Are they extensively reshooting this film? I doubt it. THE SHINING!!! YES! From what I've read even though she's only in an extended cameo she didn't get paid THAT much... about 550k. Producers originally offered 275k and she explicitly said she only came on board for the money lol. By comparison Joe Pesci was also barely in a handful of scenes in Lethal Weapon 4 (25 years ago!) and got paid 1 million. Originally tracking to open at 35M By opening weekend the forecast was 28M By Sunday morning opening weekend estimate was 27.2M Actual opening weekend was 26.5M I doubt it will have 'long legs' because word of mouth is negative, reviews are negative, came up a bit short of the 28M forecast. This was a much bigger gamble than Blumhouse's Halloween movies (the first one cost only 10 million to produce, plus advertising). Just the rights for this Exorcist trilogy were 400M + 30M Believer production budget, plus advertising. Halloween (2018) Opening Weekend 77M Halloween Kills OW = 50M Halloween Ends OW = 40M Exorcist Believer OW = 27M (ouch!) I have no hope on Believer grossing more than 13M next weekend. Will likely end its entire domestic run with less money than Halloween (2018)'s opening weekend. It was a good sequel, but effects were better on the first one and this one also felt a bit rehashy-repetitive - which was something very common about sequels from that era. If the original was an 8, this one is a 6.5 at most. Sarandon was a better main villain, but Julie Carmen was extremely good taking over. She was gorgeous in this movie.
