Is it just me or you also find it boring and prolonged?

I watched it as soon as Netflix released it. I was big fan of BB and wanted to like this movie, but it seemed incredibly slow and boring. Literally nothing was happening. Whole plot was that Jesse wanted to go to Alaska and that's it and some flashbacks from the past. It felt very lazy and uninteresting movie for me.

It's just you.

I hate to say it, but i agree. It had television show type pacing. It would have made a great mini-series, and give us 2 or 3 more though.

reply

It had television show type pacing because it essentially is a show. A movie would've had character development and setup whereas here we didn't need all that. We had 5 years of development and set up, this was just a continuation of where we left off.

reply

i agree, but they called it a breaking bad movie which was misleading. if they just said it was an addendum double episode, that would have been different.

i don't know if it is just you, but i liked it.

Just as slow as the series

reply

Not at all. Only first season was slow, but from the second season TV show got really tense and fast paced. This movie was nothing comparing to it. It was so boring... No major developments or plot lines. Only fanboys could have enjoyed this. What a let down...

Yep agreed. 6 years is too late for this film to have the impact it wanted.

People who liked it are either just happy to get another taste of that Breaking Bad world or they are biased fans of the actual show.

I loved the show but this felt unnecessary. Nothing definitively happened until the end which wasn't even that definitive. So this bloke Jesse's face is plastered over all of America as a most wanted criminal but somehow moving to Alaska with a recognisable appearance will give him safe haven? Laughable.

Biased fans will probably flame me now and that's fine, as long as they can tell me why this film was so important for us to watch.

Yep. Plot was that Jesse was moving to Alaska and that's it. Nothing else. And this plot was prolonged in two hours of boredom. This movie is praised only because of Breaking Bad universe, seeing old characters and feeling nostalgic. That's it. Only hardcore fans would like it.

Anyone who watched the series all the way through I guess is what you are calling a hardcore fan? I think anyone who watched the series, and the finale would like this movie epilogue covering Jessie's escape and self-actualization.

reply

I get that because I watched the series through about 3 times now and I was excited for Camino to find out the definitive answer whether Walter was alive or not.

Had the story been more engaging in my opinion, it would have been a worthy successor but I feel like it didn't have much definitive story
