Paths Of Glory (1957 Kubrick) is still the best WW1 movie

RIP Kirk Douglas.

Paths Of Glory really is a great movie though, only saw it for the first time last year.

*cough cough* Lawrence of Arabia *cough cough*.

Paths of Glory is close, but I give the edge to All Quiet on the Western Front. La Grande Illusion is another strong contender.

reply

Coolio, I have never actually watched them, nor Lawrence (which I have been meaning to), will.try to check.em.out.

Paths Of Glory was too much talking for me, the 1979 version All Quiet on the Western Front is really good. Going to try and watch the 1930 version soon.

There you go.

Best WWI movies.

They misspelled it(WWI) too. Maybe it's me.

EDIT:

Sergeant York is high on this list and I found it on YouTube.

Kubrick is overrated.
