the plot is a bit thin - it should not win Best Picture.

beautifully shot but a weak plot. It should not win Best Picture.

I agree, I liked the movie, but it definitely doesn’t deserve Best Picture.

Why would I be on a troll account? lol All I said was "wrong" .....You deluded fool.

I agree. I think The Irishman deserves to win best picture, but I think Once Upon a Time in Hollywood will win.

The Irishman is too long. Biodrama based on a fake premise.

Yet film school critics like both. I prefer OUTH.

The plot is razor thin and pacing is that of an old man. Remove the death and speed up the characters, you'll notice there's no movie.

Like why did the general just order an airplane to deliver the message... and

That occurred to me too

Hipster edgemasters are loving it,the Academy is full of them,it is a very mediocre and vacuous film just like almost every film the last 3-4 years ..the Irishman is the only meaningful movie of the list...beautifully shot means nothing

LOL. I went to see it with a group of people. Not a hipster edgemaster among us. We all thought it was great.

It's a weird movie. It's utterly gorgeous and the recreations of the war period are amazing. But they forgot to write the story! This movie is like a bizarre empty shell where they did everything except write up a compelling drama with a company of soldiers. There's no substance. I feel like that was probably the filmmaker's intention, but it just doesn't work for me.

I agree.

Many great movies weren't plot driven.
