How useless are modern Disney executives: they completely missed Baby Yoda merchandise

No kidding. After Star Wars official merchandise was selling on discount because nobody wanted it, they finally got a popular character: Baby Yoda... and they missed it.

It has become the most popular figure right now in the Star Wars franchise... and Disney didn't have any merchandise scheduled! While Star Wars official merchandise are lying in the shelves, people are buying Baby Yodas in the black market. They're missing the XMas campaign and losing millions of dollars. No kidding.

Something as simple as a T-shirt is being mangled by them too. I see black market ones that look better than the cheesy ones Disney created.

And one of the rushed Disney Baby Yoda figures isn't that cute. I bet in another week, I'll find bootlegged Baby Yoda dolls on the street corner.

BTW, funny video.

I had to order a black market Rey Love Doll. Disney is losing billions.

I'll take her once she's full.

Apparently they did that purposefully.

“Mandalorian” director Jon Favreau has said Disney opted not to prepare Baby Yoda toys in time for the Christmas shopping season, worried the products would spoil the character’s reveal in the closing minutes of the show’s premiere in November. The decision to delay a consumer-products push has led to a secondhand market of Baby Yoda merchandise and pressured Disney to get toys to shelves as soon as possible.

Hard to believe, to say it politely.

If they really had it prepared, they would have gone full machine once the character was introduced. And under no circumstance they would have missed the xmas campaign. Instead of that, they're missing xmas and what's more, what they have announced looks like a cheap mockup done last minute.

They got caught by surprise, and now they're trying to save their image.

There is a bunch of handmade and 3D printed stuff on eBay. Do-it-yourselfers are capitalizing big on the hole in the market.
