It's absolutely insane when you think that the first 3 episodes of Ring of Power where barely anything happens cost around $350 millions.
Which is more than it cost to make all 3 LOTR movies ($281 million). Even with inflation taken into account, that would bring the LOTR budget to $500 million which means that by episode 4, Rings of Power will be on par with Jackson's movies.
They should have spent that money on making a giant mountain of dogshit instead.
At least that would be somewhat remarkable.
I wonder if a lot of that money wasn't used to build the studio itself.
