Fake Red told the son SPOILERS

After the real Adelaide is killed, the the real Red got the son out of the locker.

Immediately he was looking at her with mistrust. Then in the car, as she remembers who she really is, he keeps looking at her with distrust.

I think the original Adelaide told him that she was the original one and that his mother was the clone.

So, she knew.

reply

She may have been a clone....but to her family she was still the only one they’d known.

reply

That's right..She's the same one that had married and had children. She was his mother..

Didn't everyone know this from the beginning?

reply

I wasn’t disputing the fact that she is his real mother.

But it would still be disturbing to find out that your mother is a clone that switched places with the original person.

reply

Yeah I'm pretty sure that's what happened. But as others have said, she's still their mother.

are you saying once red kidnapped jason she told him?

reply

Yup. He started getting weird with his mother after Red was killed.

I can’t think of any other reason why he kept looking at Adelaine with suspicion after she got him out of the locker.

reply

BINGO! I said the exact same thing!

reply

He was already suspicious when he saw her kill one of the twins, so he kind of knew something was up.

reply

The underground people seemed to show some lower intelligence and animal like behavior.

When the mother killed clones and also during other intense moments, the mother also showed some weird animal like behaviors and movements. He could have noticed and be wary of it. Also, why didn't Elisabeth Moss kill her? Elisabeth Moss seemed to notice something.

/Also, why didn't Elisabeth Moss kill her? Elisabeth Moss seemed to notice something./

You mean at the beach? that was before the attacks.

reply

I think Towelie means that, during the attacks,"Dahlia" (the doppelgänger version of Elizabeth Moss) seemed to hesitate

I just took it as the underground doppelgängers' general weirdness. Also their main priority was killing their own above-ground counterparts, so Dahlia might've simply been in no hurry to kill Adelaide. Especially since Adelaide's doppelgänger, "Red," was the leader of their whole rebellion.

I doubt there was any "recognition" on Dahlia's part - I feel like that would've tipped the twist too soon.

I agree BTW that Jason, the son, knows the truth about his mother at the end. But he also seems to be OK with it.
