What are your thoughts on IMDb 'correcting' ratings? It's dishonest and makes the whole thing a rigged farce.

In saying that I don't doubt this has been brigaded and many of the 1/10s are from people who haven't even seen it.

Still I don't like them changing ratings. For what purpose do they do so? They claim to preserve the reliability, by silencing users, by ignoring many of them because you simply won't allow a film to have a poor rating?

It's not lost on me that this only seems to happen on big movies with a lot of money at stake. I don't see IMDb correcting Queen Cleopatra, a netflix show that undoubtedly got brigaded also. It's got a 1.1, a flat 1.0 is the absolute lowest potential score possible for a film or show!!

Why is The Little Mermaid protected and Queen Cleopatra isn't?

Disney applying pressure to IMDb to try prevent scaring potential viewers away due to poor reviews?

This is how people and institutions react to fraud. It's amusing that you think it's a "rigged farce" after they've thrown out votes. It looks like The Lion King remake has a 6.8 (it was probably higher after initially coming out, and then went down a couple tenths of a point, like most movies). The Aladdin remake has a 6.9.

Try to actually think (maybe just this once). Which score is more egregious: 4.7 or 7.0?

You are an idiot if you don't realize 1* voters never watched it!

Queen Cleopatra can be rated 1* based on its false premise. Also condemned by critics.

How much do they charge production companies for the “corrected” review scores?

reply

I mean, the rating reflects pretty much what you saw when they put out the trailers. They just can't handle that most people don't like the forced diversity they're trying to shove down through their throats.

In all seriousness, this is not a bad thing. We all know that when people mass rate something 1/10, they haven't actually watched it. 10/10 is also abused most of the time. These are the extreme ratings that should only be used in exceptional cases, so when they are they majority of the votes, they should all be ignored. If the movie truly is bad, it will be reflected by the other ratings anyway.

imdb is nothing but 👃 propaganda....

Pretty clearly review bombing when there's a flood of 1 votes for a big budget movie made by a major studio.

Based on production values alone, there's no way this should be ranked below movies like Plan 9 From Outer Space, Troll 2, or God's Not Dead.
