Watched it

-Not as good as 5, 6,7 or 8
-Cena was okay as Jakob, has some good moments, but I just felt that his chemistry with Diesel was non-existent, he wouldn't have been my first choice for a new co-star for Diesel, and if were to choose then maybe Chris Hemsworth (but as a different character) however Finn Cole did a better job as young Jakob.
-Didn't mind the way they handled Han's survival
-The flashbacks of Dom and Jakob's story was the more interesting part of the film
-Nice to see Sean, Earl and Twinkie back, great for Sean to have more scenes
-WTF was Cardi B doing there.
-Way too many supporting characters, and I felt that some of them were just for fan service like Stasiak, young Vince and Jesse, etc.
-the story of Mr. Nobody's disappearance was interesting, so I guess that it will be a theme for 10 and 11
-The post credits scene got me excited for 10
-Shame that Hobbs didn't get a mention
-Good to see Ramsey getting more to do, escpecially during the Edinburgh sequence
-The space scene was quite funny
-Cipher's appearance was a bit off, just spending most of the movie taunting Jakob and Otto (prick).
-Some of the stunts were unrealistic.
-Kinda wish Otto's mercenaries were Eteon so it could have tied to "Hobbs & Shaw"

Overall, it's not the best Fast movie, but it's not the worst, but hopefully they'll better with 10. I like Cena but he wouldn't be the first person I would choose for Vin's co-star, it might have been an excuse to add another wrestler besides The Rock.

Thank you for review!

I just started for F&F series. The first film was better on the second viewing. The second one is not as good, but I loved the first 10 minutes and that girl and her "pink" car. I'm watching the third tonight.

I heard that 10 will be set on the space. If that's true, then I'm excited lol.

It's still tragic that Paul Walker is dead.

reply

How can you just start now the F&F series when its 20 years old now?

reply

Why not? Better late than never.

reply

True but I figured it wouldn't take you this long before deciding to watch the series of films. Just so you know, the 7th installment in the franchise is filled with over the top stunts and unrealistic action scenes.

reply

Eh, too many movies in the series, and plus when the 8th movie was released, I tried to do, but after watching the first film I thought was just okay and had no desire to watch the whole series. Last week I decided to watch every film of the series before the 9th is releasing.

I liked Tokyo Drift, better than the second film for sure, so I hope the movies after Tokyo Drift becomes more popcorn movies.

reply

What does your professor have to say about it?

reply

Never discussed these movies with him

reply

"The post credits scene got me excited for 10"

what is it?

reply

You see Jason Statham as Deckard inside his flat or what and he had a guy inside a punching bag and closes it and opens his door and sees Han

reply

thanks, not what i was half expecting then (Keanu lol)

reply

That sounds like a plot hole to me since Han was killed in a car accident explosion in Furious 7

reply

AFTER VIEWING THE TRAILER...HOW IS JORDANA BREWSTER BACK WHEN PAUL WALKER IS DISINCTLY NOT?

reply

Its a plot hole

reply

What did Cipher do and what happened with her in this film?

reply

At the start of the movie, it's revealed that Mr. Nobody had captured Cipher and a rogue agent who happened to be Jakob took down his plane when delivering her and he and Otto captured her.
She spends most of her time inside a glass box manipulating Jakob and Otto, Jakob's partner and snobby rich prick who's father is a minister of a Foreign country. But Her magnet plane is a simulation or something.

reply

I see, so she gets away again and is going to be on the next movie then?

reply

She doesn’t get away, Otto sets her free from her cell and uses the simulation tech to control the magnet plane/drone and when Dom destroys it the convoy she becomes more pissed off and walks out of the room I’m defeat so she’ll be back for 10 obviously

reply

I see, good that they didn't try to "redeem" her as they tend to do with villains in this series. She is best kept as an antagonist.

reply

I am hoping to see her redeemed by the end of the series along with any other villain and have a huge BBQ with everyone in it as the closing scene in the final installment.

reply

You saw the movie already yet you are asking people on here a question about it. How can any of us know why Cardi B was there?

reply

I do believe it was a rhetorical question on the OP's part. Even though her character has a connection to a previously seen character, she serves no purpose, except to continue the franchise's history of having an appearance by a hip-hop artist.

reply

Thanks for clarifying

reply

You spoiled part of this movie by posting that some of the stunts were unrealistic. Please give us a heads up next time

reply

Does Neela get a mention? afaik she doesn't seem to be in this movie

How much screentime does Han get, and does Mia get to do more in this movie (as in the action) as the trailers imply?

reply

-Neela isn't mentioned or referenced

-Han appears after the second half afterwards he's in almost every scene following that.

-She gets to do a fair bit of action, the fight in Tokyo with Letty and the henchmen and she's involved in the last action sequence in Tbilisi.

reply

weird Neela isn't even mentioned, wonder if they intended to retcon that or something, speaking of DK I assume they didn't talk anything regarding highschool status? Since he has a full grown beard now and all, would be funny if they made a meta joke about that.

Do they explain why Mia comes into the action but not Brian?

reply

How does Han survive?

reply

Han's story between "Fast 6" and "Furious 7" goes like this:
After Gisele's death, Han was aimless, because he had no idea what to do without her, so one day Mr. Nobody, who used to work for the CIA and worked with Gisele in the past, visited Han to offer him a job in Tokyo to steal some tech which was known as Project Aries from a scientist couple, but then when the couple and their daughter were leaving, the couple were killed but Han manages to save their daughter Elle, by killing the thugs and he then had to protect her, because he knew that should always a be a target. Mr. Nobody then gave Han the heads-up when one of his best agents went rogue and when Deckard Shaw came for Han, Mr. Nobody had a way of staging Han's death, the scenes show's his death being "retconned" again of Deckard throwing Dom's cross necklace on the ground by Han's car and then scene shows his feet covering the shot of an injured Han and next is the shot of the car but without Han before it explodes, it's mentioned that Mr. Nobody had a way making things look real referring it to one of his "Magic tricks" and the next plan for Han was the hardest of them all, stay dead.

reply

thanks for the explanation, always interesting how they can retconn things...
