Yes thats the same for me, Big fan of TOS/movies/TNG and last season of ENT (never got into or even fully watched DS9/VOY) eventually got STD s1 on dvd cheapish on ebay thought it was ok-ish. Impressive sfx for 'tv', interesting mirror twist and lorca/issacs was good (pretty incredible they got films stars like Issacs and yeoh) but Burnham and the other characters quite annoying (and it was all way too advanced to be preTOS era) but overall quite interesting and the end tease with Enterprise was enough to check out s2. So then you have Pike, spock, no1, Talosians etc obviously interesting to a fan but Burnham and the woke stuff is starting to overbear, lots of crying, hugging, overacting (that faux gravitas whispering amateur hour acting), just too much cringe. So they solve the continuity stuff at the end and pretty much wrap it all up when Discovery goes to 33rd century (would've been a good place to end the series and never show the far future just leave it to imagination as its never going to be as bizarre and strange enough and just end up looking like the previous 2 seasons, and would render all other trek even Picard to the extreme past). So then I check out snippets, clips reviews of s3 (as did with s1/2) to see the show has gone 'full woke' (to mirror the real world zeitgeist) and Burnham now completely running riot and obviously no stuff like enterprise pike lorca etc to keep any embers of interest going (checked out few the clips to see what far future is like and nimoy in Unification III but that's it) therefore wont bother to purchase on dvd to fully watch (like did with s1/2) and it'll be the same for s4 which looks more the same (where as Picard was/is obviously a must watch, as will SNW)
I guess ultimately its like Disco is Trek for the current 'Woke' age, its like to appeal to the far leftie twitter mob the type that gets everyone cancelled etc and thats fine OK so long as theres other Trek like Picard (which before I watched it heard was over woke etc but it wasnt too bad imo and overall quite interesting in a 'TNG does Logan/TFA' type way) and the SNW Pike series and new movies, and that they don't go overboard into that over the top woke stuff or have Burnham pop up to suck out any realism and make anyone with any appreciation of 'old' Trek cringe
