Every time I see this come up on Netflix I cringe at the terrible title, I get that when you go to prison, you want to call the shots but calling an individual the shot caller is just . . .so very lame.

That's what leaders are referred to as in prison, though. Nobody ever said prisons were hotbeds of genius.

I want to rap for some reason when I see the title. Shot caller, I wanna be a baller, wish I was a bit taller.. something to that effect. LOL!

Sorry but the title is more accurate than you think. In the US prison system the main man in any gang on the wing is literally referred to as a "shot caller".

It's a recognised prison term, and it predates this movie title by decades.

For this reason I actually thought the opposite, it's a good title.
