Record $60m Thursday evening; $157m Fri incl Thu

Billion dollar OW ahead! https://www.boxofficemojo.com/news/?id=4506

FRIDAY AM UPDATE: Marvel Studios's Avengers: Endgame posted a record-breaking $60 million from Thursday evening previews, the highest preview gross ever ahead of Star Wars: The Force Awakens, delivered $57 million back in December 2015. The film will now begin playing in a record 4,662 locations starting today as it will surely deliver the largest domestic opening ever, the only question now seems to be just how high will it climb?

Additionally, the film has now earned an estimated $305 million in its first two days of international release. After opening in 25 material markets on Wednesday, the film added another 21 yesterday, which included a $15.3 million launch in the UK, the largest single day in the market ever and +86% higher than Avengers: Infinity War's opening day in the market.

Will OW be $1.1 or 1.2 billion?

SATURDAY AM UPDATE: With an estimated $156.7 million, Disney and Marvel's Avengers: Endgame is off to an unheard of, record breaking start, en route to what could be a $345+ million three-day opening. On Thursday night the film delivered the largest Thursday night preview gross with $60 million and now the film's first full day is already the largest single day, opening day and Friday on top of being the fastest ever to $100 million, fastest to $150 million and widest opening of all-time. Heading into the weekend a $300 million start almost seemed aggressive, but it has since become an afterthought.

I Think i could make as much as $380M-400M OW

reply

It's going to make 700m+ in the US and China. given that Infinity War opening 380 in all other territories, and Endgame is smashing records in most territories, I think another 500m is likely from the other territories. So I'll call it 1.2 to 1.3 billion at this point.

I've followed box office for 15 years....

The only possible word I can describe what I've felt this weekend is SPEECHLESS

I was on the way to see Endgame yesterday when the first projections came between 315 to 330 M....I sat for at least 5 seconds trying to comprehend it and think of way to explain to my family what these kinda of results meant, I literally could not articulate just how Insane the result were, couldnt think of the words...

Then Last night I was getting ready to go to sleep when The 349 Million Projections came in....I actually questioned If I was dreaming or not, seriously....

endgame is going to break a record While breaking a record, Not only is going to break the OW record, but Its going to break the record by the most any film has ever broke The Domestic Opening Record....

Endgame truly has a shot of Breaking every record Including All time Domestic! and All time World Wide...

the absolutely FLOOR domestically for Endgame is 800 MILLION +...

I watched it 9AM Saturday morning and the theatre was quite full with a very mixed audience. When I came out the cinema foyer was really busy and they've got this film running every 30 minutes. I suspect this film will break ALL the records.

I watched it Thursday night at a nearby Mall with 20 screens. When I arrived and was trying to identify which theater I was to go to, I saw that Endgame was being shown on nearly every screen. One side had 9 Endgame showings, and 1 Captain Marvel. The other side, I believe, had 8 of 10 screens devoted to Endgame. And based on checking online to see if I could find a ticket for a friend (I couldn't), every single showing was sold out, even the front-most seats.
