Sources tell TVLine that the supernatural-tinged procedural’s sixth and final season will run a total of 10 episodes — or six less than Season 5, which released its first batch of episodes on Aug. 21. (Season 5 originally and famously received a 10-episode order, but that got expanded to 16 and is being released in two halves.) This final salvo of 10 episodes will bring the series’ grand total to… 93.

Work on season 5 was 95% done, according to exec producer Chris Rafferty, prior to production being shut down over the pandemic. With the TV industry cranking back up again, though, it’s been confirmed that Lucifer will be one of the first shows heading back to shoot. Warner Bros. Television is currently eyeing a start date of September 24th and the first job is to complete the second half of the season finale,

Information on its return has been hard to come by and though season 5B is now likely in the can, we don’t know the precise date of when it’ll be with us. We do have a very brief look at it, though, thanks to a video posted on the show’s Twitter account. It celebrates Chloe Decker, the homicide detective who forms an uneasy investigative partnership with Lucifer and eventually falls in love with him. Though primarily composed of scenes from previous episodes showing Chloe at her best, right at the end is what appears to be the beginning of the first 5B outing, “Family Dinner.”

Watching the last half of s5, I very much doubt there will be a season 6.

it's gone off the rails. lost the plot. dug a deep hole without a ladder. It may as well be fanfiction at this point.

Yep, given how they ended it the only way to fix it is to have him wake up from a nightmare where S5B was all a bad dream. The only thing they did right in this last batch of episodes was kill off Dan... now if they could kill off Trixie and stop bringing back characters like Eve and of course not given it the now he's god ending it could have come back better. Hell I halfway expected Dan to fall over from a heart attack at any moment given how fat he got over the past year. It looked like he put on the pandemic pounds for the whole cast.

I thought it was funny they kept shooting close up profile shots of Dan's huge double chin he grew. It's like they were angry at him.

I binged the whole thing recently and I didn't see anything wrong with season 5. I enjoyed it.
