Dumb and Dumber are writing a series of Star Wars scripts

yes D&D from Game of Thrones

I'm guessing Rian was fired after all.

reply

thats what happens when you create the worst star wars movie of all time.

reply

That and Disney is really fire-happy when it comes to Star Wars directors.

reply

Well they're certainly putting some other options on the table.

reply

I saw it reported as a series, as in TV series, which would be related to both Rian's trilogy and current lore.

So, we'll have to see what it's going to be.

reply

Nevermind my previous post, the other article says "series of films." The title made it sound like a TV series.

reply

Why are they dumb?

reply

Did you see the last season of GoT? The first one not to have any of the books to go on?

I love GoT but it had some of the worst writing I've seen in a major TV show, plot contrivances and Holywood cliche's abound.

reply

Like when Jaime was charging at Drogon and Bronn pushed him out of the way at the last second and said "I saved you, dummy. That's how we're gonna win. Not fighting what we hate, saving what we love."

reply

Yes, exactly!

Good God that was so awful.

And then next episode they're just laughing about it! 'A dragon! Well that just about tips... the scales!'. Was what they might as well have said.

And the thing is the old GoT would have subverted (in a good way) the cliche. Jamie would have seen his chance, he's brave, he's rash, he's arrogant - he thinks he can end it all here and now, he picks up the lance, he charges at Drogo... and Drogo melts his face off then eats him. That would have been perfect. Spectacular. A fitting end to a flawed character, 'realistic' (within the confines of the show) but yet surprising. You know, GoT style.

Instead we get the biggest Holywood cliche of them all "Noooooooo, get dooooowwwnnnn".

So disappointing.

reply

Exactly and such a fake "cliffhanger" too. Everyone knew damn well that Bronn and Jaime were going to be fine.

reply

It's amazing. You'd think they'd realise this right? I mean they've already taken the risks, done the hard work and they're selling out now, right at the last?

reply

after they run out of source material we got Dorne..

reply

Their weaknesses as writers became more and more evident when they ran out of quality source material to adapt. For the past 2-3 seasons really.
