I liked the pod race in TPM. A minute or two too long, but it was pretty cool.
shareEasily the best of the movie. Without that race, the movie would be almost worthless other than Maul.
shareWasn't it practically a shot-for-shot ripoff of the chariot race in the 1959 "Ben-Hur" movie? Which would be hilarious if true, it'd mean that the only good part of a bad movie was the only part that wasn't original!
But I suppose Han being a pod racer is likely enough, it's the kind of crappy dangerous job that would make a career in smuggling seem like a step up.
