Another Mary Sue?

At some point in the movie I am betting that Emilia beats up Han.

reply

Or threatens to burn him alive.

reply

Well Han did have quite the colorful past, as we're going to find out in another year and a half.

reply

Thats true, but this movie should be about Han and Chewy. Not sure if you noticed but Emila gets top billing for this movie.

reply

Should be about Han, Chewy and Lando. But unfortunately we live in a PC movie world now.

reply

I fully expect it, because nothing says empowering like a barely 5ft woman thinking she can beat up a dude a foot taller, and 50 to 100 pounds heavier than her. I'm count down the time until Kathleen Kennedy and her SJW Loons that makeup her story group are fired. I give it until after Episode 9 comes out than she'll be done.

reply

Unfortunately the Han actor is very short

reply

Everyone keeps saying that but he's 5'9" vs Ford's 6'1". No one is going to notice 4 inches difference between two people who aren't in the same movie.

If they want to keep true to the basic Star Wars viewpoint, they'll have her be infinitely smarter and more worldly than Han, and able to defend herself in a fight, but not inclined to pick fights. That's how Leia and Padme did things.

Of course Rey is a bit different, but she wasn't raised as a princess, she was raised in a godawful hardscrabble backwater and she's a much bigger and more athletic gal than Leia or Padme. For her to survive and maintain her independence in an environment like that, she'd have to have been fighting off adult males from the time she first grew boobs, if not earlier.

reply

Maybe we should start a petition to have Kathleen Kennedy go up against a cage fighter so she can show us all how easy it is for women to best men hand to hand?
