My prediction for what will happen

I think I have a guess on what will happen to Lalo and Nacho; I get the impression that Gus is setting Nacho up. I am thinking Gus will have Lalo killed and 'frame' Nacho for it. Gus will then have Nacho killed and present the body to the Salamanca's as an offering of sorts to keep the peace.

In the end I find it very likely both Nacho and Lalo will not survive this series; and Gus framing and killing Nacho at an opportune time seems perfectly within character.

I also predict Saul win end up winning in his court case with Kim or he will do something unethical and it will cause her to get fired and lead to them breaking up.

reply

I doubt they will end up in a court case together (either representing the same client or on opposite sides), they are both public defenders (well Kim is doing it pro bono). My guess is Saul will keep pushing boundaries and Kim will get more and more corrupted by it (maybe she will lose her job with Masa Verde and resent Jimmy for it). Eventually they will start to clash in which Kim starts to push back with arguments of ethics which will remind Saul of his brother's moral superiority (elitism) and they will part ways with Kim being the one that is more 'hurt' by it.

I think it is this way because the Saul we know in BB is assured of his methods and does not give indication of doubt about what he is doing like he would if Kim had left him because he did something he knows was wrong. It would have to be something he could rationalize away like he always does.

Kim dies while drunk driving, you watch.

I'm thinking they get married (didn't Saul Goodman have an ex-wife he joked about? who are the other candidates?) and Kim eventually realizes he's a scumbag, takes half his money, gives up the law and goes back to Nebraska.

reply

I think you meant that Gus will have Lalo killed and frame Nacho for it. However, I don't believe this is true.

During the events of BB, Walter and Jesse kidnap Saul, and Saul believes Lalo sent them. He also, pleading for his life, claims; "It wasn't me! It was Ignacio!" It sounds like Saul believes both guys are alive. It is possible both guys are dead and Saul just doesn't know it, but Saul is a guy that likes to be in the know.

reply

You are right, I have corrected it now.

Good catch; however given how involved both Lalo and Nacho are in these matters related to the Salamanca's and Gus Fringe I doubt they are alive at least by the time Gus kills all Don Eladio and all them; but maybe they are in prison or something instead. 2 things are for certain though Nacho is too involved in this to 'get out' and the Salamanca's are basically wiped out by the time Don Eladio is killed.

I'm thinking Gus will frame the kid who couldn't clean the fryer well enough.

reply

Lalo is dead before the events of BB start. Remember what Gus said to Hector after Jesse killed some relative in Mexico. 'The Salamanca line dies with you'

reply

It\s possible that Lalo gets killed somewhere in between the time of Saul's encounter w/ Walt & Jesse in S02 of BB & the massacre at Don Eladio's in S04.Maybe Lalo ends up in prison & gets killed there by way of Gus.

reply

True, a lot of the conclusion of Better Call Saul will be determined by how much this show overlaps with the BB timeline. I mean we are getting really close to being there already. My guess is, for Gus to finish setting up his lab, Lalo has to go away. It would not make sense to end the show with that open ended. But again it depends on how much overlap there is with breaking bad.

reply

I'm guessing that there has to be at least a couple more time jumps, since we are still in 2004 in the shows present time.Exactly how far into 2004 it currently is remains unclear.

From what I can remember,Gale apparently begins setting up the Super lab sometime in late 2008 & he & Walt do their first cook in I think March 2009.So there is still a lot of stuff that has to happen before we get to the BB timeline.I just hope they don't take the easy way out by pulling some kind of retcon on both shows timelines!

reply

Oh, I did not know the in universe date was 2004 in Better Call Saul; hard to believe there is a 4 year gap between Better Call Saul and BB considering we are 'almost there now'.

I thought it was less than 2 years away from BB timeline for sure. Out of curiosity where did they show the year it was in the show? I must have missed it.

Kim is so going to pay the price for getting involved with Saul's scams. The whole Mesa Verde case is so not going to work out for her and I can sense now that things aren't going to work out with Schweikart (I so misspelled that, I am just too lazy to look up the correct spelling).
