not bringing his wife/daughter’s mother back at the end

probably gonna be eating away at him for the rest of time. would the sequel have him continuing this quest if the movie was a hit?

reply

When the father and daughter both decided to bring someone else back instead of the mother, maybe they did not love her as much as they claimed.

reply

Even though they keep it strictly platonic in the movie, I bet they'd pair him with Holga in the sequel(s).

reply

I didn't like that decision. Bring yo' wife back not that butch ogre.

reply

Theh point was that life had moved on, the mother was gone for years. Their life had changed, though he had not yet noticed it had.

The "butch ogre" had become part of their new family.

As messages go, about moving on, grieve but LIVE, I thought it was a surprising good one for a movie from today's Hollywood.

Kudos to them.

Why are you posting spoilers in the subject line?

reply

Coming to boards to a movie you havent seen is Asking for trouble. Although I agree posting spoiler in subject is arsehole move

reply

I didn’t come to this board. It was shown in the latest posts page.

And you never put spoilers in the subject line. You say you have a question, put that is a spoiler, and then ask it in the comment.

reply

sorry bout that.

reply

Forgiven. Just don’t do it again. 😊

Holga BECAME the daughter's mother. She raised her and nurtured her. It was natural to bring her back.
