Based on what I've seen on some of the reviews I've now come to a conclusion about the world.

The world is dark, selfish and cruel. If it finds even the slightest ray of sunshine or positivity, it destroys it.

reply

Good one! Should have posted this on the Tangled boards. 😉

reply

Wtf are you talking about? Do you think it's positive to undermine people's valid opinions because it doesn't match yours?

*omg my first moviechat argument :D

reply

Pretty sure it was meant as a joke. It's very similar to something Mother Gothel said to Rapunzel in Tangled.

The poster said nothing about undermining other people's views, just a comment about how low the reviews are if I'm not mistaken.

I'm not the poster, however, so they can defend themselves from here.

reply

Oh....but I still think the poster thinks there is something wrong with being critical about this movie.

Good one on the Tangled quote(my all time favourite movie). I am appalled that Beauty & The Beast is getting a 6.1/10 so far. All because of a few things:

1. Dan Stevens CGI Beast
2. Anti Emma Watson haters all because she's an activist/feminist.
3. That its suppose to be a copy and pasted version of the 1991 classic.
4. Josh Gad being gay in this version.

To answer all 4 questions

1. I honestly wanted Dan to wear heavy prosthetic makeup for the Beast but hey i'll get used to the CGI version.

2. Come on Emma Watson is her own person,so what that she is getting hate I like Emma since the Harry Potter franchise....I mean judging by the trailers/tv spots did you not see how amazing she is both singing/acting.

3. So what Cinderella was the same that's been done a billion times before but hey everyone loves a bit of nostalgia.

4. Ah did you not see Finding Dory,Zootopia,Frozen all them had gay characters in them and now these so called critics are complaining about Josh Gad being gay in Beauty & The Beast?!?!

I for one am looking forward to this version and I don't care what others think. Everyone is different.

reply

Then why are you so upset? I think it has more to do with the director admitting the movie has a gay agenda than there being a gay character. And since when do Frozen and Finding Dory have gay characters???

From what I've seen, this movie looks like crap. And I dislike Emma Watson very much, she's a bad actress with a bad attitude.

reply

You can't judge things based on appearances now, can you?

reply

Who says that all I saw was "appearances"?

reply

"Looks" and "what I've seen" are all connected to appearances.

reply

So every time we "see" a movie, we can only judge it based on its appearance? It's not like I can spend some time with it and learn all about its interests and hobbies...

reply

Right. So when you call this crap, you're going to ruin it for those who are excited to see it, huh?

reply

How the hell do I ruin it for others by giving my honest opinion?

reply

By seeing negative reviews, they might get dissuaded from seeing this film.

reply

Good god, are you Hollywood or something? People can make up their own mind. It isn't fair either if positive opinions like that of lisafordeay encourages people to see this movie.

reply

I may not be Hollywood, but I know more about the film's production than you can possibly fathom. I read their interviews and the facts behind the scenes in magazines and even the new Tale as Old as Time art book. They know what they're doing. I have faith in them.

reply

"I may not be Hollywood, but I know more about the film's production than you can possibly fathom."

And on what do you base that assumption about me? Appearances???

Your supposed knowledge about the film's production has nothing to do with my right to express my negative opinion about this movie.

Great if you have faith in them, I don't. They already went wrong with the casting of Emma Watson.

reply

Want to know why I get upset with negative reviews from others? Because negativity puts me down and wears me down. By having positivity from others is the only way I'll ever feel good about myself. Especially when anticipating for the release for the film I'm most excited to see.

reply

Well, you just got to learn how to deal with that. I'm not going to be positive just for your sake. You know how many people talk negatively about the things I like? And you don't even know yet if you're going to like this movie!

reply

And let negativity change my excitement for this film, when I've read novelization spoilers, and listened to the soundtrack, and seen clips of it, giving me the knowing that it will be a great film? You got to be joking!

reply

Where the hell did I say you should let negativity change your excitement? Are YOU joking? All I'm saying is that you might end up not liking the movie at all, so you're getting upset over nothing.

reply

I'm getting upset over the negative reviews it is getting, when I've spent months anticipating its release and the day I'm going to watch it.

reply

That's not my or anybody else's problem.

reply

We live in a hell dimension, make no mistake. We can create bubbles of love and hope to hold back the tide but everything erodes in time.

reply

The whole world is not dark, selfish and cruel. However, I agree that the haters seem to have quite an agenda. They slam something as if they were doing the world a favor, but they can't seem to actually give specifics, just a lot of hyperbole.
