Bob Iger steps down as Disney CEO, replaced by Disney Parks boss Bob Chapek

Disney announced that Chapek, chairman of Disney Parks, Experiences and Products, will replace Iger, effective immediately. Iger, who was elevated to CEO in 2005, will stay on as executive chairman through the end of 2021. “With the successful launch of Disney’s direct-to-consumer businesses and the integration of Twenty-First Century Fox well underway, I believe this is the optimal time to transition to a new CEO,” Iger said in a press release. “I have the utmost confidence in Bob and look forward to working closely with him over the next 22 months as he assumes this new role and delves deeper into Disney’s multifaceted global businesses and operations, while I continue to focus on the Company’s creative endeavors.” ALSO: Bob Iger says he'll continue to oversee Disney's creative endeavors as executive chairman. https://www.nytimes.com/2020/02/25/business/media/bob-iger-disney-ceo.html

That's great news, but that begs the question: is this new guy any better than Iger? So far, the Walt Disney Company is run similarly to the State of California: they always have a bunch of idiots lined up, ready to take charge when the current idiot retires. I thought things would get better with Disney when Eisner left, but apparently he already had an apprentice trained in the ways of the Stupid Greedy Side to take his place.

Hmm. Well, that is pretty DAMN cool. Satan is much cooler than that overly judgmental and hate-filled guy (who’s worshipped by even more judgmental and hate-filled people) anyway. ;)

Some Disney detractors might see my boy Iger’s departure as a sign of hope (LOL)... but methinks Disney isn’t going to stop dominating and making detractors whine. Oh no. I do see the House of Mouse continuing to make said detractors whine for years to come. Hail D!

Chapek looks like an Alpha compared to Iger so I hope it means he will take out the trash at Lucasfilm.
