Some sad sap just bought a whole bunch of those red soldiers in dresses toys

I volunteer at a charity shop, and we received a big donation of unwanted toys, including a few of those soldiers, as I said, but I didn't think we'd sell them. And now someone bought them all, and I'd dropped one of the toys on its head before I was told that. Whoops!

Who in their right minds would buy such tat?

reply

Rian Johnson?

reply

Hahaha, I would not be surprised. But since it's the RSPCA in the UK, no.

reply

I read all the new SW toys sold appallingly.. I guess the uber fans who'd normally buy anything SW related back in the 80s/90s/00s only bought the legacy characters like Han, Luke, Leia and that Luke v Vader Bespin set that was released at the time of TFA (apparently there was supposed to be a flashback to it in the film when Rey picks up the lightsabre) and ignored the rest. I recall seeing endless packs of large scale Rey, Poe, Finns in Home Bargains stores. nobody wanted them

Maybe the dude has kids and the kids might like some crimson-robed bad guy toys? Maybe they've got some other Star Wars toys and they need some villain stuff to fight.

Not everybody is buying Star Wars action figures to put on their desks and look at.

reply

"I volunteer at a charity shop"

No you don't.

reply

What makes you think I don't?

reply

I love that volunteering at a charity shop is supposedly something someone would lie about.

reply

It was foebane typing it and posting it that tipped me off.

reply

Actually, I DO volunteer. Today, in fact, RSPCA, UK. Take-off of out-of-date clothes, some tagging, various other activities.

Only an uncharitable fiend would dislike the new Star Wars movies. You probably steal from orphans, you dastardly devil!

reply

The Disney Trilogy may look nice, but the characterisations are awful and the plots are a horrible repetitious mish-mash of random ideas cobbled together, because there was no preparation in the trilogy as a whole. The thousands of plotholes have been pointed out to oblivion on YouTube, and frankly, I just don't care any more. They are just movies, after all. Bad ones at that.

reply

Dude, do you think I'm being serious?

reply

Oops. Guess my sarcasm detector failed me.

reply

The Sequel Trilogy fans can be pretty ridiculous, so it's understandable.

reply

I just know.

reply

Interesting. Many copies of Casino Royale available?
