Better than The Force Awakens...

...so this is the best Star Wars movie since 1984. I just don't get all the hate. This movie had conflicted, fleshed out characters, excellent action scenes, humor and beautiful visuals. I have watched Star Wars since it first came out(I was six) and this one thrilled me like the first and second one did. I think people don't know what a good movie is anymore. They have been conditioned to like the familiar and hate something a little different. On RT only 56% of people liked it while 79% liked that piece if shit Justice League. That is crazy.

I'm going to watch it a few more times to process final judgment, but it was actually quite well done and the 2 hours 25 minutes or whatever it was went by with great pacing. A few questionable things like 1) Didn't Supremacy have shields to block that kind of assault? 2) What about Snoke's backstory, who is he really? 3) Rey is really a nobody? etc.

Also, John Williams did a good job on the soundtrack, unlike TFA--which was phoned in.

The shields were inconsistent in this one. How was Poe able to get that close to the ship, without being blocked by any shields?

reply

Because Disney is obviously not doing any QA on the writing. They're just hiring writers or directors and going "do whatever the hell you want". If they'd had any sense, they'd have kept Lucas on as a continuity advisor.

The movie is fun, but as far as the plot is concerned, there are many things that I disliked about it, like: Why did they have Snoke get killed like that? How the hell did Leia awake in the middle of the space and fly back to the ship?( that was awkward AF) Why did they have Luke become one with the force/die from exhaustion( or whatever the hell happened), in this movie, instead of having it happen in the next one? I could cite more reasons, but these are the ones that stand out.

reply

And why didn't the First Order ships just speed up a little to catch up with the cruisers? It's not like they're running out of fuel too.

reply

I think you meant '83...and no it wasn't...might have been the worst since '83 though...

reply

It may have been 83, but it was the best one since then. The Force Awakens was garbage and this was a lot of fun. Too bad Abrams is directing the next one. Oh well.

Bye Felicia...

What a clever thing to say. You recycle I see.

reply

People are upset because TFA set them up to believe that they knew how this movie would play out. TFA was a safe commercial money grab, this is for the true fans. We will have to wait and see who the next film is for.

reply

Lol at “true fans”....

reply

They’re pretty much equal in my book....

reply

Yeah, it was probably the best movie since Return of the Jedi. It wasn’t a great movie but still much better than Force Awakens.
