A leftist attempt at rewriting history

This show is among the countless others inserting leftist political agenda in an effort to recast history. One of the most annoying ones is having the vikings speak with an almost African accent and inflection. Christianity is shown as an almost purely deranged belief system. Non era appropriate ethnic characters are inserted for modern day diversity points. Women are presented at times as tough as the men. I know that's a demanded talking point for the left but even in ancient times the vast majority of men were more physically capable than the vast majority of the women. This nonsense about some buxom 120lbs girl defeating men, soldiers, in battle is absolute horseshit. I cannot wait for the day when leftist nonsense gets slapped out of our media.

Oh no, now you've done it.
Just wait for all the SJWs educating you about "real shieldmaidens" and other "female warriors" like Jeanne d'Arc (who didn't ever really FIGHT, she was basically just a token, a symbol, a pop-idol, but oh well.)

The only actual female warriors were probably the Japanese Onna Bushi, but their effectiveness is a matter of hype as well to be honest. In the end, physiological facts matter, especially in melee combat...

Oh, I'll believe in real shieldmaidens... but I'm pretty sure if they were stout enough to be warriors that they weren't 120 lbs cover girls they probably looked like burly men with tits which is not something I want to see... so in this case I'll suspend belief for the sake of not puking while I'm watching the show.

"Christianity is shown as an almost purely deranged belief system."

It is? I'd say the noble and pious monk Athelstan represented the faith pretty well. I viewed Nordic paganism to be what you're calling the "almost purely deranged belief system" portrayed in a much worse light.

It appears they weren't aware that most Viking women, while tough, did not actually fight. Most stayed home and took care of the farm when the husbands were away, looting and marauding. There were probably only one or two Viking women who were actual warriors in combat.

It's not that the men were sexist, (they probably were, to a degree), but Viking society was complicated when it came to the roles of men and women, and how the two viewed each other. Women were treated much better in that society compared to many places in ancient Europe at that time, were even protected by the law, and allowed to own property of their own. They were also taught to be strong and independent when they needed to be, but everyone was also taught the value of teamwork. There's no way the viking raids could have even worked without people banding together, and most of their communities in Norway, Sweden, and Denmark were very tight-knit. Safety in numbers and cooperation.

Keep in mind the Hollywood hates Christianity. Most of the people who run that 'biz are not Christian and resent the role that it has played in both history and modern-day America, so they often take out their anger and resentment over it by writing skewed versions of it for tv or movies. Either that, or they ignore it entirely and celebrate every other religion out there.

I agree with much of this - modern feminazi lesbo crap about female warriors being a physically strong or skilled as men- HISTORICALLY. They weren't.

I haven't got an issue with females protrayed as warriors- IF they were, in context- but to pander to SJW shit. Nope.

What's the point of controlling the US news and entertainment media and social networks all around the globe, if you can't change history.

I don't recall this show trying to make everything about the struggles between laborers and the wealthy class.

And, "an almost African accent and inflection." Really? I take it you haven't actually heard African people speaking. This show has a professional dialect coach that developed the "Viking" accent in English inflected with Old Norse.
