really bad remake

They changed everything it's like a completely different movie

reply

?

Its not a remake.

reply

Rogue, I read Master's post as sarcasm. Maybe it is a comment on the amount of sequels and remakes that are showing up in the theaters these days.

reply

But it's not a sequel or a remake, so I just dont see that.

reply

Ok, I had written several paragraphs trying to rephrase what I meant but then I realized I am an idiot.

What the OP is most likely talking about is this:
https://www.imdb.com/title/tt0120029/?ref_=fn_al_tt_2

It is a 1997 comedy called RocketMan. It has NOTHING to do with Elton John.

So the OP masterfully (see what i did there) made a post acting as if the 2019 RocketMan was a remake of that 1997 film. As the plots were totally different saying they "changed everything" is true.

reply

Thats pretty damned obscure. Never heard if the 1997 movie and i doubt many others have either.

reply

true, it is pretty obscure but if you look up "Rocketman" on IMDB it is the second film listed. Perhaps master did just that to look up the bio-pic, saw that other film as well and the comment came to him. or perhaps he happens to be a fan of one of the actors in it.

When i came up with my previous response I initially thought the 1991 film "Rocketeer" was name Rocketman until I looked it up.

reply

It was a piss-poor attempt at being funny. Welcome to the internet.

reply

Right? Didn't even ask Harland Williams for a cameo.

reply

who hasn't seen Rocketman from 1997?

reply

I thought it was a sequel to 'Rocketeer'.

reply

Not a remake, but it's quite a bad enough movie itself.

reply

Not to mention the white washing. The original rocketman was a Korean woman. Sheesh they just fuck everything up now to suit their own agendas.
