S7 E8 "Winter of Our Discontent"

Kai gets freakier.
He wants to have a baby with his sister only he won't touch her, he thinks fucking a dude that is fucking his sister will make him the baby daddy.
LOL that's not how any of this works. Go back to biology class.
His whole speech to the cop about how sex with women drains your power but sex with men just multiplies it. Okay dude, however you need to justify it to yourself.
The whole backstory about that creepy farm torture chamber. Meh.
I feel like he's running out of ideas and just throwing all kinds of random shit into the mix.
I thought his brother was in on it all along but I guess not. he's just the world's dumbest shrink. Ally told her doctor about kai but the doctor says he never made the connection. really? Are there that many blue haired freaks running for city council? He couldn't tell it was Kai from that description?

reply

I think there may be a parallel here to the Valerie Solanas story in that Kai has a strong following of people willing to die and kill for him, but he is now losing it, too, and becoming progressively less coherent.

However, if that's what this is, it's happening too fast.

reply

Looks like next week he tries to make them drink poison koolaid like Jim Jones. They are trying to bundle all the cult leaders into one cult. Manson, Jim Jones, David Koresh. Next he will make all the women wear baggy blue denim jumpers like Warren Jeffs! He doesn't have enough female members though to have polygamy with multiple wives for each man, so maybe he will do a twist with multiple husbands for each wife and then all the brother-husbands can screw eachother too. Because it's just not gay enough yet.

reply

Sounds interesting that we will be getting into other cult leaders' backgrounds into one event. Particularly next week involving the infamous Jim Jones cult.

reply

Who was that cult guy that killed all his members to get them beamed up to the alien ship that was coming? I think they also drank poisoned Koolaid and they were all found dressed alike laying in bunk beds.

OH yeah- Heaven's Gate!
Heaven's Gate was an American UFO religious millenarian group based in San Diego, California, founded in 1974 and led by Marshall Applewhite (1931–1997) and Bonnie Nettles (1927–1985). On March 26, 1997, police discovered the bodies of thirty-nine members of the group who had participated in a mass suicide in order to reach what they believed was an extraterrestrial spacecraft following Comet Hale–Bopp.

reply

Three episodes left. I'm curious to see how that would all play out.

reply

After the Lena Dummy episode, anything is an improvement.
But after last nights episode I kinda felt like I needed a bath to wash the filth.

The whole thing about wanting to impregnate his sister during a 3some that would never work....yuck.
Murphy is always trying to find any excuse to push gay storylines. So sick of it.

reply

Yep - always pushing that. As Seinfeld said "Not that there's anything wrong with that" but it's just too much OTT! This entire season has been gay sex. I'm no prude but it is lacking a coherent story. I think this is the end for AHS.

reply

I was wondering the same thing after episode 8. I was trying to think if there were ANY straight characters in the whole show and the only one i could think of was Meadow but she was an idiot and she's dead.
I am in no way homophobic, the gay stuff does not bother me but statistically it's kind of fantasy world to make every single character gay or at least bi. Even that TV producer guy I assumed was straight because he was sexually harassing Emma Roberts, but he had a male gimp sex slave in his attic!

reply

Yep. true. Murphy has an agenda, and I guess I'm just sick of it.

reply

Mostly everything on tv features straight couples. If you're gay like me, you feel excluded.
Ryan depicts all kinds of relationships, all colours in the spectrum.
I'm glad he gives lgbt people visibility.

reply

Agree.

reply

I like seeing all types of love too, but unfortunately in this show, most of the gay relationships are not good examples for the rest of straight america to see. The show makes gay people look freakish and dangerous. Like having gimps tied up in the attic or having weird incestuous 3-somes. Ally was one of the few non-freak gay characters, but now she's one of the freaks too. Maybe she is just undercover to get her son back and then she'll kill the cult.

reply

Ally wants her kid back, she's not brainwashed yet.

reply

That's all well and good, but it seems he vilifies everyone else to prop up lgbt

reply

I could agree with your sentiment there. I'm not really a prude either. But literally every season of this show feels like I'm kind of watching softcore/fetish material at times rather than a show with actual horror elements and story arcs. I don't really care too much for the racy materials that add next to nothing in the show. It comes across to me sometimes as sensationalized distraction at best. Perhaps Murphy couldn't help that one since it's his show. Therefore I could only digress on that little nitpicking.

reply

You are absolutely spot on with your assessment. It is sensationalism with some horror elements thrown in. It has gotten more prevalent as the seasons have progressed. Sometimes, less is better. I remember back to the first season, "Murder House" there was very little and it was just enough to go along with the 95% horror. Then "Asylum" hardly any, same with "Coven" and "Freakshow". I couldn't watch "Hotel" because after the first episode, it was ALL sex, all the time. I hate Gaga too. It has reached a height that I am getting very annoyed.

reply

Yeah. It feels like between 'Freakshow' and 'Hotel' for me when the sex became notably more prevalent from there.

reply

Yes, indeed.

reply

Lennon it seems to me that Murder House and Asylum had their fair share of sexual situations but it was always a part of the story at least.
Now it's just there for the sake of being there most of the time.
I find it all off putting because he's just using as something to fill the time with. If he thinks he's shocking or horrifying me, he's only grossing me out.

Will we ever have a Murder House or Asylum again?
Jessica needs to return.

reply

Indeed Norma! The first two seasons were appropriately kinky 😂. It didn't go all south for me until "Hotel".

You are right about Ms Lange, she is a goddess! Sadly, I don't think she will return to AHS.

reply

I think you're right that she won't return.

reply

Kai is just batshit crazy. That what all of it essentially means.
