Look, I’m a big fan of the gorgeous de Armas, but why in the hell are they casting a Cuban actress to play one of the whitest actresses in history? Which idiot producer came up with that idea? I’ve always been for diversity, but not when it’s this illogical.

shareBut she wasn’t Cuban. There’s a huge push these days to only have diverse roles played by diverse actors of the same race and/or sexuality as the character. That’s always made sense to me, but it should also apply to Caucasian characters.
