This movie was one of the first signs of the downfall of our culture.

I remember back in 2012 when this movie was first released you couldn't go on social media without seeing a bunch of memes or parody Ted accounts. People acted like it was the funniest movie ever despite it being 2 hours of recycled Family Guy gags and humor that relies on a teddy bear dropping F-bombs. It truly was one of the first signs that our culture was become dumber and more degenerate.

What's the difference between this and other comedies that came before it like Police Academy, Animal House, Anchorman, Old School, The Hangover, Dodgeball, the Jackass movies, Napoleon Dynamite, Borat, Superbad, Road Trip, The Big Lebowski, Office Space?

reply

A lot of those movies at least had some wit and creativity behind them and weren't just trying to get by on the joke of a teddy bear saying curse words.

reply

Hey, the bear did pretend to be retarded for a bit, so that wasn't just curse word humor.

reply

Also, some of the movies in your list aren’t funny either, so I don’t really understand what your point is.

There was more to this funny movie than "a Teddy bear saying curse words." The downfall of our culture began in the mid 1960s, picked up a lot of speed during obama's reign, and came to full flourish this year with the idiotic Chinese flu hysteria.

Ok what else was to it? Getting laughs by mentioning the name of an 80's movie?

It started long before this movie, but this movie was one of the first to portray men as being idiot losers who accomplish nothing and are nothing more than man babies. Meanwhile, women can do no wrong and are great at everything.
