White girl who has an Asian sister, a gay male best friend and a crush on a black dude. Whew! I liked the first episode though. I'm going to keep watcing, it's interesting so far.

LOL! I don't care about the woke stuff, but I can do with less of that high school/teenage angst stuff. Tapping out. Title should have been "Devil at Ohio High." LOL!

So the show had people in it. Asian, gay and black people exist - just like privileged white men, racist truck drivers and Karens exist.

Then they should definitely make a show with only privileged white men, racist truck drivers and Karens. Glad you agree!

reply

No one would watch that shit.

I'm trying to get through the first episode but the writing is way too forced. Such silly family dynamics - a sister who is gorgeous but for some reason has zero friends while her other sister is so popular and can't be bothered, an incompetent dad that can't sell a house then he goes home to tell the wife as she just tells him how proud she is so he obviously now can't say anything, they suddenly don't have a foster bed in all of Ohio so the doctor brings her home... it's like a bad episode of Modern Family.

I'm 25 minutes in and just want to dive into the actual story and not care about this dumb family. I like Emily as an actress so I'm going to stick with it, but I am crossing fingers this is going to kick into the next gear soon.

Not that I care one way or the other but Every single new show on NETFLIX that takes place in a high school/ college has the Mandatory gay or black BFF and the Interracial crush/relationship. Its like they are factory made, they should at least change it up a bit.

The Asian sister looked more hispanic or Latino to me. But yes it is woke. Or the show might just be showing the current social trends that exist in todays' society. Rather than really trying to promote it deliberately.
