The guy who played the weakest character on GOT is now suppose to take Brad Pitt's place??

Jacob Anderson was one of the most miscast actors in history on Game of Thrones. Just terrible in every way and a complete weakling playing one of the most ferocious characters. Now they want us to believe he can fill the part started by Brad Pitt? Are people losing their minds? I don't expect a Brad Pitt look a like to play the part, but someone with at least 10% of the charm and believability as Brad Pitt's Louis.

Well, he is not that bad. He is way better than the actor playing Lestat - or maybe is just the director not knowing how to use Lestat.

It is pretty funny that Greyworm is taking on such a charismatic role. Let's be honest - they need to tick all the diversity boxes now. But there are a million other actors of color who could've be stunning in this part.

reply

Dude played such a milquetoast character, I assumed he has to be a eunich in real life...

Having finished the first episode, I like the production and enjoyed it for the most part. It could have been so much better with someone more charming and charismatic playing the part of Louis. Jacob Anderson just isn't believable. AMC did a great job with the episode IMO which makes it even more frustrating how good this show could have been. Obviously the guy playing Lestat is very weak also. A real shame, but I am doing to keep watching for now.

Lol @ Greyworm and ferocious

Stopped watching the show in episode 3. Too much homosexual nonsense. Haven't read the books, but looked into it thoroughly and it's not in the book. Stop trying to force it on everyone with less than 5% of the United States claiming to be LGBT. Almost every show that forces it is cancelled pretty quickly.

Vampires were always very sexual and bisexual in nature. It's naive to believe two male vampires living together and obsessed with each other were just "friends". Anne Rice confirmed that Louis and Lestat were a same sex couple with a daughter.

She says they are "parents". She does not say they have a sexual relationship, but she is a producer on the new series, so I imagine she supports the new storyline. My point was the book does not say they were in a sexual relationship. This was revised for the series. Just say you like the new twist and I'd respect that more than trying to change the facts about the book.

"same sex couple" = gay couple

That interview was made in 2012! There was no series.

Unlike you, I read the books. Lestat had male and female lovers in the novels, although Rice's vampires don't have physical sex because the plumbing doesn't work. He chose Louis as his everlasting companion instead of a woman. You're in serious denial.

reply

So you're saying they don't have gay sex in the book, but they do in the series. Gotcha.

reply

Not all couples have sex. They're a gay couple as per Anne Rice. Sex in the book consisted of drinking blood and making out.

reply

What straight man you know will stalk another man, begging him to be his companion?

Dracula mostly went after women because he was hetero. Lestat is nondiscriminating.

2022 and people still thinking these two were just roommates.

I haven't read the last 3 books but apparently they can have sex now. A doctor figured out a way to help them. In the last book Louis agrees to become Lestat's consort. So they are a couple.

reply

The quality of the books went downhill fast for me so I only read three or four, but it's good to know there was a happy ending for the both of them.

in the series, Lestat is very abusive and controlling. It'll be interesting to see if they'll have Louis return to him.

People must have willful ignorance to remain so naive about Louis and Lestat's relationship.

I think Anne kinda got left behind during the vampire book boom. She dropped the ball & Laurell K Hamilton, Tanya Huff & Nancy A. Collins picked it up and ran with it.

After reading these series & other vamps books, I found that I prefer my vamps to have a bit more fun and less depressing.

reply

I never heard of those authors. I agree that happier vampires would be refreshing.

reply

Jacob Anderson is doing a great job as Louis. All the acting performances are strong.

reply

What do you mean weakling, that was his character - an emotionless warrior, raised from childhood to simply obey all commands and fight to the death, like a terminator...

reply

Anderson claims to be 5' 9" tall, so probably even shorter and I'd guess weighs 120 pounds. That's what I mean by complete weakling and his personality wasn't tough either.

reply

He doesn't look much shorter than the other guys in GOT, height also matters less in a battle when you're using weapons like spears or swords, as for his personality I would say he just didn't have one, he was mostly emotionless like a robot...
Also I don't see how exactly is this relevant to this other show, her plays a different character.
