Is it true the guys she picked up off the street weren´t actors?

I read somewhere online that the guys she picked up off the street were real people and the interactions were real, they didn´t know they were being filmed. After scenes were filmed, the people were told they were in a film and asked to sign release forms. Seems hard to believe...

Maybe some of them? I'm guessing the guys who didn't appear in multiple scenes. The man with elphantitis, for example, was approached to be in the film if I remember. Some of the other guys she picked up had more scenes as well. It seems weird that they would just be random strangers who agreed to come back for a few more days' worth of shooting.

Yeah that is bullshit.

As Glazer wanted the film to feel realistic,[12] most characters were played by non-actors. Many scenes, such as those set in the nightclub and shopping centre, and the scenes in which Johansson's character picks up men in the van, were unscripted sequences filmed with hidden cameras.[14][20] The production team would inform the subjects they had been filmed and ask permission to use the footage.[14] Glazer said the men were "talked through what extremes they would have to go to if they agreed to take part in the film once they understood what we were doing".[20]

That is straight from wiki and seems to be backed up in interviews with Glazer. Maybe the truth is somewhere in the middle.

Awesome tbh. Shame it couldn't save this overall bad film.

Sure. Just like Fake Taxi.

I caught this film the other day and it did seem quite realistic in the scenes where she's picking up the men but I would have never guessed that this was basically found footage...hmmm, interesting. Not sure that it made for a compelling film though.

But it was nice watching Scarlett in a sexy role like this, she pulled it off fairly well. It's a 6.0 out of 10 from me.

A simple cast member search on imdb shows that every male character featured as victims are actors. The only non actor was the deformed guy but he was sought out by the filmmakers before shooting started.

The only ad library footage is probably from Scarlett's interactions with random men while driving her van.

Yeah basically what I suspected.
