Real clowns losing work?

I've seen multiple posts about real clowns losing work because of this film...

I feel like people seriously jump on the "fear of clowns" bandwagon more than they do for anything else. Obviously there are people who genuinely are afraid of them but it's not like Pennywise is an ordinary party clown...

No idea if those headlines are true about clowns losing work but it seems a bit silly. I really think some people just WANT to be afraid of them.

I personally find clowns quite creepy and think they are great characters for horror movies but i'm never afraid around real-life clowns. If there's anything that's given me the fear of clowns its John Wayne Gacy. I'll say no more.

Then they should stop being a clowns and move on to putting on cute animal suits instead. Its not like clowning is highly specialized field that they can't transition to more party friendly characters.

Did they complain about the creepy clowns randomly stalking people? Those guys probably did more to promote the creepy dangerous clown idea.

I believe real clowns will soon see business grow ... that is, for those that will make a living impersonating this new Pennywise the Dancing Clown. :)
